this is the hill i am willing to die on but i wholeheartedly believe that misao's postgame design is better than her ingame design.. even with the ai generated mess that it is it's still better, so i used that as the base instead. blue and white is a little too on the nose for my tastes and i really think the darker purple looks amazing on her, along with a shorter haircut. i like the idea of buns but the execution was kind of.. odd? like i like a half up half down look but the bun covers seemed unneccesary, and the long hair messed with her silhouette
she was honestly my favorite character on a listen to chapter 1 and out of the redesigns my favorite as well, i wouldn't change her friendliness, but i wouldn't make her naive considering the separation of her family and her brother's death. (her backstory is very scarcely changed since I don't really have any criticisms of it) from what i understand von's misogyny really shows through misao when she gets berated for the same mistakes that male characters make. i think she would be a valuable asset in terms of keeping the whole cast's sanity in tact. i see her as being kind of a people pleaser and knowing what people want to hear, keeping everybody's spirits up, and i'd like her arc to be her learning to begin prioritizing herself and her own mental health.
since i already explained her murder case role on the ikeda post i'll just paste it here:
now, for chapter 3 i decided to play a little bit with the 2 victims trope. from an outsider perspective it would seem like theres two victims, but the cast quickly figure out that ikeda is the killer. basically misao in my version keeps her room temperature very cold, because it reminds her of home and its ideal for ice sculpting. there was an opportunity to rewrite and play with despair disease and von missed it, so i wouldve used it here. basically ikeda gets the despair disease, and whatever it does to him, maybe convince the afflicted that if they kill they can get all they've ever wanted, it gives him reason to kill and he decides to target denden: everybody else is either grouped up or possiby able to overpower him alone. so he breaks into her room, ready to kill, and is surprised to find that she can fight back. ikeda successfully delivers a fatal blow but not before being incapacitated by denden, either being hurt by a collapsing ice sculpture or denden fighting back. ikeda is stuck in place and has no ability to leave, and as the night goes on he succumbs to hypothermia, with denden having already died from her wounds
with that covered here's her backstory:
Misao Denden was the youngest of two children. When she was in middle school, her parents divorced, with her father gaining full custody of her and her brother, Mikito. Misao feels partially responsible for the split. She lived a relatively normal life, being introduced to ice sculpting by Mikito. One evening, Misao was returning home from school, and entered her brother's room without knocking. She witnessed Mikito shoot himself in the head, and like her parents' divorce, blames herself. After graduating high school, Misao pursued ice sculpting in honor of her brother. Because of her overly-polite demeanor, she is often seen as a people pleaser, afraid to do anything that could cause rifts in her relationships.
