TW: Usage of Derogatory Language, Slur usage, Discrimination, Homophobia, Racism. (If there are any errors here please give me grace, I do better on paper than a keyboard lol)
I saw this comment that I thought was very disturbing yet wanted to bring it to light so I am apologizing in advance for showing you this slop. (It is at the bottom of this rant)
Keep in mind this is just from YOUTUBE SHORTS, this is something I expected from a more problematic app like Instagram considering how it is known for their loose moderation with allowing slurs and curses but I thought YouTube was a bit more strict, no?? I’m not really active on YouTube much so please correct me if I’m wrong about that lollz.

The video this comment is under is a very positive post too so this guy went out of his way to be extremely negative. Not only is he talking about an INNOCENT DEAD MAN like this, I felt IRKED to my core seeing someone throw around slurs so loosely like it’s regular words, especially ones that target communities I am apart of as an African American and *actual* queer person myself considering Mj was openly hetero and a proud black man!
Mj was simply a feminine man, being androgynous, more masculine as a woman, or more feminine as a man doesn’t immediately determine someone’s sexuality, the commenter proudly expressing that he holds so much hate in his heart yet so much ignorance because if you truly believe someone is a bad person maybe attack their actions not the communities they are apart of? I don’t care who you are talking about, it will never give you a pass to call them slurs, especially not slurs from a community or group you aren’t apart of. (considering some groups reclaim theirs.)
But I hope this doesn’t seem parasocial or weird considering I don’t have that much of an audience on here, but aside from the fact this is about Michael Jackson he’s still a black man who lived through such hateful times such as Segregation and the Jim Crow Era, so as a black woman I will always defend my people, I will always defend ALL people actually, no person deserves to be verbally attacked like this, especially not for things they can’t control such as being apart of the LGBTQIA+ community or being a POC.

Lastly, I’ve seen a lot of comments similar to this I will admit, but I haven’t encountered one using such harsh language like this one. Thank you for making it to the end, let me know your thoughts.🤍
