@Repost #leathermob @loyalstricklin ⠀ Every design presents its own issues. What are the right moves, the right angles, the right details? For us, it's all about simplicity. Organization is important, but a dozen tiny pockets for everything you might carry someday isn't good design direction. For example, our rucksacks have two vertical front pockets and the main compartment. This makes it easy to stuff them full and stay secure, but without overloading the design, which in turn keeps the price and weight down. We've traveled extensively with our bags, and have never felt the need to add more frills just for the sake of appeasing every person who may be interested. If further organization is needed, then the ideal solution is to add what you may need in the form of smaller pouches that fit inside the bag. It makes things easier to keep track of while also able to remove or add what you may need with little effort. We've changed a few details to our Rucksacks since this photo was taken, but the overall idea remains the same, and we plan to keep it that way.

Here is the style direction I ended up using for my just-for-fun farmers market website. I started with a few more earthy green designs(I’ll upload those in a later post), but as the website is so photo based with a header and lots of photo content separating sections of information, I decided to choose my photo content and decide on colors based on my photography choices, versus any company branding, and created this style tile based on that.
I know that in most scenarios, when designing a website, I will probably have preexisting branding that will influence my color and typographic choices, but it was fun for this personal project to have more creative freedom and basing my design off of the photography.
In basing my color choices off of the photo content, I ended up coming up with a more fresh and fun color scheme, I feel, than I otherwise would have.
Fun Fact: Don’t be afraid to make bold color choices for your design direction based on photo content. It makes them more synonymous.
