An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Fic rec! 4K Batman fic. Chapters: 1/1
Summary: "Hey, Hood," Rhys says seriously. "I've got something for you, but it's a little outside your usual service range."
Jason raises his eyebrows under the helmet. He never gets kids from outside the Alley, if only because they have no way of meeting one of his liaisons, or any reason to trust the Red Hood. "How far outside?"
Rhys smirks. "Bristol."
Comments: This is set early in Jason’s Hood days - he’s still building a reputation and hasn’t revealed himself yet. Part of that work is getting the local kids to trust him, and that’s turned into a regular occurrence of kids asking for their guardians to be assassinated and Hood providing the bullet. When Tim shows up, Jason’s not entirely sure if it’s a setup, a fishing exhibition, or real. And thus, you get a protective Jason who is further displeased with Bruce.

The Joker should die
Permanently
Stuff him in a fridge, toss him into the ocean, yeet him into the sun, I do not care, he should be dead and gone and if someone insists on bringing him back let it be in the distant future against some other hero because the new dynamics would possibly be more interesting. At this point the only positive point that Joker had in his favor to remain was Mark Hamil voicing him.
But while the Joker should be dead, Batman should not be the one to kill him. Neither should any of his children or pseudo children.
For at least a few reasons why this is the case, go read Destiny919's brilliant reasons are better than rules over on AO3. It's not linked because I'm not certain how to do that. Then go read all the rest of their stuff because they are an awesome writer.
If the state refuses to acknowledge that Joker isn't actually insane and is just a monster and won't apply capital punishment upon him, there are two people I would accept killing the Joker.
Harleen Quinzel
Pamela Isley though I would insist that Harley be aware that Pamela does it so they don't have such a large secret between the two of them.
They already have criminal backgrounds and no aversions to death and as long as it happens before they're Sirens and trying to reform then it could end up being perfectly within character and even the starting point of reformation.
ya'aburnee
Have you read ya'aburnee?
Yes, previously
Yes, now that you've recced it to me
No

Summary:
ya’aburnee [ya-boor-nay] (Arabic: يقبرني) - (idiom) literally 'you bury me', an untranslateable phrase expressing the desire to die before a loved one, especially parents sending sons to war, because living without them would be too painful. There's a loud thunk. A horrifyingly familiar thunk. "I think," Tim sobs, "I think I've been buried."

Robin!Tim gets buried alive. RedHood!not-yet-revealed-to-the-Bats!Jason has a LOT of feelings about that, understandably. And there are metaphors! I laughed, I cried, it moved me, Bob.
there was that one moment in Summer when rory tells lorelai that writing the book was jess' idea and lorelai is like UGH, JESS and i thought it was hysterical, like 15 years later lorelai still hates jess, but at the same time it's another symptom of the revival's disease, pretending time stands still and none of these characters have really changed...
It’s very annoying! Fall makes it seem like she doesn’t hate him but she definitely still hates who he was. It’s frustrating for sure.
im in tears i havent watched the show in 2 and a half years and im crying i cant believe im gonna watch 6x10 just to watch my kids finally get their shit together
YEEESS THIS EPISODE WAS AMAZING I’VE BEEN CRYING FOR PAST 2 DAYS. ALL THOSE FLASHBACKS MADE ME SO EMOTIONAL…AND I CAN’T BELIEVE THAT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS OF WAITING AND DEALING WITH ANTIS WE FINALLY GOT THE CONFIRMATION THAT LYDIA HAS BEEN IN LOVE WITH STILES ALL ALONG SINCE 3X11. i mean we’ve always known but we were being called delusional and other shit but not anymore. it’s canon and i feel so validated. stydia and sciles reunions in the next episode will be the death of me. i’m gonna cry like a baby.
i totally understand. i wanted to give up on tw during s4 myself. it was a huge downgrade, especially after s3. in the end i was too attached to the characters to actually stop watching so i kinda became a casual viewer and didn’t care that much about the show. s5 was waaaay better so i got back into it (especially after 5x04, 5x05, 5x14 and 5x16). i’ve been watching this show for 6 years. i’ve been here during its good days as well as bad days. there are many aspects of tw that bugs me but in general i’m actually really glad i didn’t give up on the show.
