Yesterday I was looking up the name of the Final Nightmare in Link's Awakening, because I forgot it's name; Dethl, and decided to look up 'are Dethl and Vaati related in any way' knowing full well that they aren't. I just wanted to see what the results would be or if anyone had found any evidence that the two could be connected. I was not expecting to find out that there is a wanted poster in the Shooting Gallery of Ocarina of Time that ALSO resembles the physical appearance of both Vaati and Dethl! Very pleasantly surprised.
I used to think that maybe Dethl was the last remains of Vaati's magic; not the Minish themself just their magic, taking on a form to attempt to keep itself stable and 'alive' in some way through the Wind Fish's dream/nightmare. I also used to think that Bellum might have been created by or have been some part of Vaati at one point when I was younger, I'll be honest I was a kid who had played exactly ONE Zelda game and wanted all of the others to connect back to my favorite villain.
