DVMNINKTOBER Day 29 Costume

Day twenty-nine is costume and I thought it would be fun to have Akira dressed up in the 1972 anime version of Devilman which is a lot more like a superhero show and isn't tragic like the manga is! I was inspired by a figure of 72 devilman in which you could take off Devilman's head to reveal Akira underneath like he was wearing a full mask! This was quite fun to draw and play around with a different inking brush here, not sure I'll use it again since I do love my usual inking brush but it was cool to experiment around. :3

Horrible little devilman doodles I drew after watching the 72 anime with a friend. The devil blunt is in reference to icarianart’s father’s demonic bunt post that my friends and I quote all the time.

I think the Akimiki looks better in versions like Crybaby, the 1972 series and ova 3.

And the Ryokira in versions like Cyborg 009, ova 1 and 2 along with the manga.

Oooo, you do have a good take on this!

To be fair, I like Ryokira in almost any adaptation (and yes, that includes Crybaby as well, despite of the changes), because those two just have such an interesting relationship, but I can see where you're going with this and I agree!

To be honest, whatever the case is, I can't deny that Akira loves both Ryo and Miki in all Devilman adaptations.
