Excitedly trying Eir’s Remedy. And can I just say, I lovvvvve the handwriting? Thank you so much @the-northern-herbalist for these unexpected samples!!
With my fantasy writing and worldbuilding growing as fast as a Skarphedin sliding on ice, I’m pretty confident that my tea, Bragi’s Brew, actually works. Thanks, Bragi.
Eir’s Potion (for Colds, Flu, & Fever): Yarrow, Elderberries, Elderflowers, and Peppermint Leaves (All Organic)
A handcrafted, herbal remedy dedicated to the Norse goddess Eir designed to relieve symptoms associated with colds and flu. (Does not come pre-brewed, nor in a potion bottle.)

3-4 cups a day (constantly drinking the brew throughout the day seems to yield the best results).
- - - PRECAUTIONS - - -
YARROW, in rare cases, may cause allergic reactions, so take this potion with care. Also, do NOT take this remedy during pregnancy.
- - - QUANTITIES AND THEIR VALUES - - -
0.5 oz (Sample) yields ~8 cups (50¢/cup)
1 oz (Standard) yields ~16 cups (47¢/cup)
2 oz (Value) yields ~32 cups (44¢/cup)
- - - HERBAL INFORMATION - - -
YARROW is well known as a wound healer, but it also helps aid recovery from colds, flu, and fevers. This is especially true when taken with other herbs, such as elderflowers and peppermint leaves (which are both in this potion). In Europe, ELDER has a vase amount of folklore surrounding it. Its berries have established antiviral activity, which helps prevent and recover from colds and flu. The flowers are likewise taken to stimulate sweating, reduce body temperature, and relieve fevers. PEPPERMINT may be a popular flavor during December, but it also happens to be a useful medicinal herb. Although it does not help mend colds, flu, and fever directly, it will help ease the nausea that often accompanies such ailments, making it a vital part of this remedy. - - - THE BRIAN BO'REW - - -
INGREDIENTS: Assam and Darjeeling Tea with Hawthorn Berries and Red Clover Blossoms (All Organic)
DESCRIPTION: This tea blend was originally supposed to be called Hiberno-Norse Breakfast...until I was struck with the 'ingenious' pun that ultimately won out: The Brian Bo'rew.
But to explain the pun for those who are unfamiliar with Celtic and Viking History, there was an important man named Brian Boru (or, more accurately, Brian Bóruma mac Cennétig) who became Ireland's one and only High King. Surprisingly, this man wasn't even from the most powerful family in Ireland at the time (the Uí Néill), nor did he live in the most politically dominant region (Ulster). Nay, he came from a lesser-known family known as the Dál gCais from the region of Munster. His rise from obscurity to history, however, came from his strategic use of the 'Vikings' who settled and governed Ireland's very first town and trading center, Dublin. In other words, he embraced the new political landscape that formed after the Viking came and remained in Ireland, while others clung to traditional means for power acquisition. Thus, Brian Boru truly is the quintessential figure of Hiberno-Norse Ireland, for he brought both sides together in order to innovate and prosper.
This tea therefore grants its user the ability to outsmart their political foes through innovation and thus become the High King/Queen of their local kingdom.
- - - WANDERER'S BLEND - - -
INGREDIENTS: Ceylon Tea with Coffee Beans, Roasted Chicory Root, and Hazelnuts
DESCRIPTION: As Odin says in stanza 5 of Hávamál, "wits are needful for those who wander widely," and this tea blend will help you do just that: wander widely. Combining the hardy ingredients of Ceylon black tea, coffee beans, and hazelnuts, this tea is full of energy that will help you keep wandering.
- - - NORSE BREAKFAST - - -
INGREDIENTS: Assam Tea with Heather Flowers and Juniper Berries
DESCRIPTION: A simple and stout breakfast brew accented with heather flowers and juniper berries that will help you wake up and stay fresh in the morning. Its fresh, earthy aroma reminds me of my early-morning hikes in Iceland, but it has nevertheless been dedicated to the Viking longship.
