On September 10, 1977, The All-New Super Friends Hour premiered. New characters were created for the show including The Wonder Twins, Samurai, Apache Chief, and Black Vulcan. Black Vulcan was designed as a knock off of Black Lightning so they wouldn't have to pay Tony Isabella royalties.
