this is a Hollywood-centric list, but there have been many other hot vintage superheroes as well—in compiling these guys I also found out about Red Heroine, a 1929 Chinese film where a young woman becomes a magical martial arts vigilante to avenge her family, and in the 1950s Japan started producing films with superheroes like Moonlight Mask, Super Giant, etc.
