Speaking of brudick pregnancy jealousy, thinking of an AU where Talia actually informed Bruce about being pregnant w Damian and tried to use this to blackmail him to come live with the LoA but he wouldn’t and after much warring this somehow this culminated in her agreeing to spend the rest of her pregnancy at the manor.

And Dickbin is so fucking profoundly jealous that she’s carrying Bruce’s kid and taking Bruce’s time and attention that at first they have an expected violent rivalry of courtesan-style assassination politics. BUT then it evolves into some kind of really really weird spiritual bond borne by them both being in Bruce’s bed all the time. like 15 year old Dick starts experiencing phantom pregnancy hormone changes and sympathetic back aches and panicking when he hasn’t seen Talia in a while. They’re still all snippy and aggressive at each other but they’re also kind of velcroed together.

Talia was initially planning on killing Dick to pave the way for her kid to be batman’s only surviving child but she finds herself unwittingly drawn into Dick’s like. Growing enamorement and fascination with her pregnancy. And she is like hm. Perhaps he can help raise and train the true heir and be an advisor. If this child has an additional protector and attachment and it is someone this close to Bruce then that is one more preventative factor against Bruce rejecting the child or sending him away.

Ok anyway afterwards Dickbin should help raise Damian from birth and always be referencing like "when I was pregnant with you-" without any self consciousness and it simultaneously amuses and annoys Talia and baffles Bruce but Dick doesnt gaf about what Bruce thinks he's just like You Wouldn't Get It.

Bonus points if Dick has really weird sex with Talia that is literally not born of sexual attraction at all Dick just needs to be Connected to her and to this pregnancy because he’s like going insane experiencing it secondhand. And she’s pissed at Bruce at that moment and horny and is developing some kind of possessive objectifying instinct over this kid so she’s willing to fuck dick to satisfy that. like She wants to fold him up like a piece of paper and put him inside her ribcage just to Have another piece of Bruce’s soul and know her fingerprints are on it. I’m sorry I sound like a fucking nutcase right now I am just talking

1) they’ve been going on dates for decades both in-universe and counting chronologically IRL and literally no one talks about it

2) Hal and Clark call each other the best of the League and are shown to admire each other so so much on multiple occasions

3) when Hal is the Spectre, he says that Clark “gazed with clear eyes, at all my flaws and imperfections…and accepted me, and somehow that’s helped me…to accept myself” and Clark calls Hal family and tells Hal’s niece that he always looked up to her uncle

4) after Hal is revived and Green Lantern again, Clark is ALWAYS the first person to defend Hal and to vouch for him, especially against his paranoid bestie Batman

5) they have SO many interesting parallels and connections, like obvi there’s the fact that Clark is an alien and Hal is, like, THE guy to hang out with aliens, but there’s also the fact that Clark’s death was kinda the domino that caused Parallax like if Clark hadn’t died in the Death of Superman (NOT to victim blame but) then Cyborg Superman wouldn’t have shown up and then destroyed Coast City which set Halallax off and then there’s also like all the things that Clark and Hal are inverse of each other like god who is so human him being a god never occurs to him vs. the human with a god complex, the hero powered by the sun vs. the villain who sacrificed himself to relight the sun, the superhero who is so incorruptibly good vs. the superhero who fell spectacularly from grace but clawed his way up from the grave to redeem himself, the man who is invulnerable vs. the man who never lets himself be vulnerable. THERE’S MORE BUT THAT’S THE GIST OF IT IN CONCLUSION THEY HAVE SO MUCH POTENTIAL

What do think about dick/talia

so Talia is one of those tricky characters for me where i read all the wrong content for her to begin with.so for the longest time i had a piss poor understanding of her and i'm still trying to. rectify that, Grant Morrison when i catch your ass-

but i do have a newfound love for her and i think she and Dick have an interesting relationship. bc they can't stand each other. so i do see the potential for shipping them! i wouldn't say it's a ship i seek out to would ever personally write, but if a fic/art/concept using the ship was top-notch, i would absolutely be into it.

bc there's a lot of fun stuff to play with for them. these two do not get along in canon and it always seems to be such a personal hatred, it's so funny. they dislike working together the rare times they do and tend to be at odds for the typical reasons you'd expect like morality and all. but they always seem to respect each other, which is the fun of it. i love an enemies to lovers situation that's rooted in respect. i think my favorite version of this ship would be the Pre-Crisis version, bc they just always seemed to have issues, usually fighting over Bruce. it's so antagonistic and i love that.

and of course, the fun of it is where Damian falls. because Talia and Dick are both parental to Damian, but clearly have wildly different opinions on what raising Damian should look like. so it'd cause interesting conflict if they were dating how they would be forced to find a middle ground and Damian's just. stuck in the middle. honestly Damian's reaction to their relationship could be fun in general, bc i do think it'd send him through all the stages of grief at once.

all in all, i think there's a ton of nuance that would make a really fun ship, whether you played it straight or took it in a dead dove direction. forcing these two together and seeing them slowly fall for each other is absolutely in character for both of them. tbh if Talia wasn't created to be Bruce's love interest, she and Dick probably would've kissed by now. they do always have an interesting tension when they're on page together. i could see Talia getting obsessed with Dick in a way- his purity, the way he's a virtuous light to the entirety of the hero community. how she would try to get him to see her side could be a lot of fun in a corruption kink sort of way. lots of potential for these two.

The Throuple Omegaverse Bat Clan AU

Ok so, I came up with this idea I really want to work with (ah, if only I could make something original out of it *sigh*) and then started thinking about it in Batman/BatFam context to create a new AU and @bluetalesoftheheart​ helped me bounce some ideas around (such a bad influence, gave me waaay too much encouragement). 

I really want to write sooooo much for this AU but there’s so many angles I don’t know where to start.

Anyway, here’s an overview of the general universe, I want to know what people think (and hey, share your ideas, or send prompts if you want me to write small one-shots for this AU). 

I might edit this a lot, I’m still in the brainstorming phase. I just need to know if people actually want this, if it needs to be a fic or stay in my little rare-pair shipping poly brain forever.

Batman Throuple Omegaverve AU

Warning: polyamory literally everywhere (that’s the point), a/b/o (obviously), mpreg implied, lot’s of different ot3 rare ships. 

I’m focusing a lot on brudick, nightbatcat, talbrudick, etc, but you can just read this for the other angles and other ships of the universe if you don’t like these. Hell, you can just read for the Alfred part!

General AU science:

It’s an A/B/O universe where couples are not a natural thing, instead the social norm are romantic trios (traditionally alpha-beta-omega).

Other types of trios (non alpha-beta-omega) or groups with more or less than three just fall under the queer umbrella regardless of the primary gender of those involved.

Children can only be naturally conceived with three people involved (how you ask? some pseudo-science where threesome sex somehow allows alphas to contribute sperm, betas contribute eggs and omegas contribute an actual womb, either way the kids have DNA from all three parents).

The usual bites and bonds things still apply but with unique variations, so do the scents, heats and ruts things.

Packs and families are not mutually exclusive, packs carry the same emotional weight as found family whether they are related by blood or not, blood relatives aren’t necessarily pack.

Now, on to the actual Bat Fam universe ideas:

Thomas and Martha Wayne were alpha and beta respectively and their omega spouse was actually Alfred Pennyworth-Wayne, who came to the Wayne house as a servant when Martha and Thomas had just started seeing each other and it led to a torrid romance and marriage that the media made a scandal of. Either way, as a result Alfred is one of Bruce’s biological parents.

On the day the Waynes die, Alfred is also there but somehow survives and raises Bruce alone from then on. Alfred isn’t more of a parent to Bruce just because of the blood connection, it’s actually the social angle that changes things- there’s no master-servant barrier there at all, no social hierarchy, no pretense. Alfred inherits part of the Wayne estate as a widower and raises his son, plain and simple.

Alfred still enables Bruce immensely and even encourages the Batman thing, probably even more than in canon, because he too is pretty traumatized by the death of his partners and understand the need for justice.

So Bruce does grow up to become Batman but due to Alfred’s influence and a far more open and loving relationship between them he becomes a different type of person and far less edgy and emotionally distant. Still dark and depressed though because so is Alfred, he did loose his mates after all. 

In fact, Alfred takes a much bigger role in the whole vigilante business himself because he’s just as invested as Bruce (but a lot more clear headed and experienced). Instead of Alfred just showing support by being an enabler, he actively participates as an accomplice with his military and espionage background serving to train Bruce and later the robins, he also becomes mission control and a family spy (basically he has a Matches-style character to do undercover work). On the other hand, he’s stricter and able to discipline Bruce and call him out on his bullshit without having to be passive-aggressively polite all the time.

Lot’s of good stuff to create Alfred-centered stories.

Bruce doesn’t become Dick’s guardian, Alfred does! 

Single people or queer couples couldn’t adopt at that point (see what I did there?) but being a widower, Alfred had a different legal standing and could take in Dick. 

Bruce and Alfred were at the circus when the Graysons die and Alfred is the one that takes Dick in, Bruce has just become Batman and he’s only about 10 years older than Dick so it would have been weird if he had been one to take in Dick.

Bruce and Dick’s relationship starts a little like siblings/pack but is constantly evolving as they both get older. 

Later when Jason comes into play, Dick is about 19 and the law had changed so Bruce does in fact adopt Jason.

There’s a lot of gossip and scandal in the media because Bruce is an obvious alpha, the family took in an omega (Dick) and now Bruce is adopting a beta/omega (Jason, not sure about his dynamic yet). The media just connects the dots very poorly assumes Bruce is grooming or abusing these kids or something, which he is obviously not. In fact, they only become robins because they were going to go down a path of violence anyway and Bruce decided to at least give them purpose and train them properly.

The media gossip is used by a new person for nefarious purposes!

Namely, Dick’s long-lost third parent pops up and tries to get custody of Dick. Turns out this person is actually working with the Court of Owls and they want their little Gray Son back. Is it really Dick’s missing third parent? Or is it a CoO fake? That’s the interesting part.

Cue drama and a fight to save Dick from becoming a Talon with the help of a group strong enough to oppose the Owls (League of Assassins).

The most dysfunctional romance arrives.

Talia Al Ghul (beta) agrees to help save Dick because she is in love with Bruce (duh). Bruce, however, is developing feelings for Dick throughout this whole adventure (is it healthy? maybe not at this point) and Dick reciprocates. Talia is attracted enough to Dick that she decides a trio with them might work (and she can get the heir her father wants in the process).

After a victory against the Owls, Damian is born but the trio starts falling apart because Talia wants to raise the baby as an Al Ghul and neither Bruce nor Dick will allow their kid to be an assassin. They share custody and try to make things work for a few years but, ultimately, Talia is selfish and wants both Bruce and Damian but not Dick.

Talia is not a terrible person in this AU. She's actually a pretty good mother and a complex and morally grey person that believes ends justify the means. However, she does antagonize Dick (and manipulates people to get what she wants because that's how she was raised) and she unfortunately defers to Ra's and his orders even when she disagrees with him, but just because she is an antagonist to main characters doesn't mean she's a villain or evil.

Cue the hexagon!

Talia also develops feelings for another person (Deathstroke) and figures her ideal would be a trio with Slade and Bruce (even though that would be an alpha x beta x alpha trio). She tries to convince Slade to help her get Damian back so they can be a family.

Problem is Bruce hates Slade. Bigger problem is Slade does like Talia very much but he also doesn’t like Bruce, instead he’s obsessed with... Dick. 

Meanwhile Selina Kyle (beta) has feelings for both Dick and Bruce, and Bruce might reciprocate.  Talia is also not completely against Selina if that means getting Bruce (and being rid of Dick).

As for Dick, he loves Bruce, he might like Selina because she balances himself and Bruce out, but he might also like Slade because he has an unhealthy thing for powerful alphas and they have a bit of a past, the only one he doesn’t care for anymore is Talia because he feels used by her and she kinda broke his heart. Either way he honestly just wants to raise his kid in peace at this point.

Bruce has no idea what to do because feelings, and just wishes his precious Dick wasn’t such a trouble magnet.

Cue a goddamn romantic hexagon (because triangles are so old-fashioned).

(Apollo and Midnighter are around to help in this hexagon war full of kidnappings and weird attempts at seduction. They would probably be searching for a new third since their old one passed away like 20 years ago (just going to say Jenny Sparks, ok? And she probably died in labor. Also, Jenny Quantum would totally be their now adult daughter) and they would probably snap Dick up in a heartbeat, but that’s more of a comedic one-sided thing in the background. Personally I’d love to have them run off with Talia’s brother but that’s influenced by my other fic-verse, in this world that would make very little sense. Then again...).

Again, Slade and Talia are not actually awful people, they just work for the wrong side and use the wrong means to achieve what they want. Slade is actually really doting and spoils Damian as much as his own kids (who are kinda freaked out by the whole romantic hexagon going on, specially because Dick is in it), Talia loves Damian but she was raised very strangely by Ra’s so she raises him with what she knows even if it’s not healthy for Damian.

Previous relationships

Because previous relationships give us a wealth of world-building.

Bruce still dates a lot of different people but he’s only involved in 3 serious trios. First he dated Clark and Diana in the early days of the JL. Then he dates Talia and Dick. Finally he ends up with Dick and Selina.

Dick dated Wally and Roy, then he dated Kory and Babs, then Bruce and Talia. Finally Bruce and Selina.

Selina dated a few people too but, like Bruce, only had 3 trios- first Harley and Ivy, then Dinah and Huntress, finally Dick and Bruce.

EDIT 2: Someone mentioned past Slade/Wintergreen/Adeline and yes, that's how Grant and Joey came to the world (not Rose though).

EDIT 3: Made some minor changes. Still accepting ideas, prompts, questions, etc, for this AU.

Also, Rose Wilson (alpha) would definitely bring some interesting things into this AU as well.

There’s a whole other angle for this universe for the rogues too but it’s so big I’m not sure where to start yet... ^^’

I think in one of your ask games you mentioned that you shipped dick and talia a little bit so how would that work out? I do love the idea of exploring their relationship though because they are very similar at the end of the day but still dislike each other

I'm not gonna lie, part of it is shallow LOL. I think they have chemistry and their belligerent tension is hot, plain and simple.

Like. Look at them.

It's fun to think about them finding the other attractive (and not even just for the looks) and being pissed as fuck about it + refusing to deal with it in any way whatsoever. Dick in particular, because I think his dislike is a bigger part of the dynamic than hers (Talia is often seemingly reacting to his hostility and I'm not sure how far she'd go if Dick had ever behaved normally about her LOL, outside those face-to-face encounters she doesn't seem to think about him much).

I don't really imagine it going beyond that, BUT I've wondered about maybe trying for something a bit more involved if I ever write my "what if Bruce was DEAD dead" AU (basically, doing my own thing with Final Crisis + taking it as an opportunity to tweak a lot of things in the al Ghul family, BFTC, the Crisis itself, et al). It would be utterly doomed and messed up and filled to the brim with transference issues and the Bruce shaped hole of it all. Which would be really really fun for me and deeply unromantic in just the way I like.
