hey that last post reminded me: if you've never heard of "digger of unnecessarily convoluted tunnels" then may i introduce you to the incredible webcomic Digger by Ursula Vernon aka one of my favorite comics of all time. it's an incredible fantasy tale about gods, demons, prejudice, injustice, the nature of good and evil, and one incredibly jaded little wombat just trying to get back home, who absolutely did not sign up for this crap.

Rereading Digger since a friend made a comment on how characters with masks on are difficult to show expressing emotion. Because I remembered that Ursula drew a literal statue that still manages to express different emotions without changing its face (its the lighting).

... and it had a omnibus released twice and I missed it both times its out of print and resellers want at least $200 if not $400 for it. ajdoasjfda

As someone who has spent many days deep in the webcomic mines, I believe the most valuable piece of advice I can give about judging a webcomic by its about page is this:

If the characters are inexplicably anthropomorphic animals, the comic WILL slap hard

I’m really gonna have to learn to crochet at some point, because I need plushies of Digger and Ed and there really are no suitable knitting patterns to make appropriately cuddly wombat and hyena plushies

(I’m reading through the Digger Unearthed omnibus, because I was fortunate enough to be able to back that Kickstarter, and just... damn, I forgot how much I loved this strange little comic)
