Here's a hurt/comfort story, coming in hot!
Story:
System Failure! Panic Attack Active!
Characters: Terrafin, Drill Sargent, Diggs,
Mentioned: Eon
Terrafin and Drill Sargent were sent to assist with holding off a colony of Rock Walkers while Diggs and other Molekin miners who had found a vein of gold in that mine. Terrafin would usually be fine with such a mission, but Eon decided that Drill Sargent would be "perfect for this mission". Terrafin was fine with most of his fellow Skylanders, but something about Drill Sargent always annoyed him. Drill Sargent was always there with him like they were attached at the hip, no matter what Terrafin was doing, Drill Sargent would be there with a "Hello sir" or a "Thank you sir" he was always getting in the way or misunderstanding what Terrafin wanted. It drives Terrafin crazy. Terrafin swore that Drill Sargent acted like he owed Terrafin his life.*
⛏️"We're almost there now."
*Diggs's voice finally brought Terrafin back to reality, they were deep in this old cavern, with only some lanterns as their light source, but they made due. Drill Sargent then nudged Terrafin with his drill.*
"Are you al-alright sir?"
*Terrafin gave an annoyed sigh before speaking.*
🥊"Yes Drill Sargent, I'm Fine. Stop asking and stop calling me Sir."
"Neg-neg-negative sir."
🥊"For *bleep* sake."
⛏️"Okay, we're finally here… Just be careful, the floor might be weak."
🥊"Alright, you understand Drill?"
"R-Roger sir."
*When Drill Sargent responded, he almost sounded nervous, afraid. Terrafin thought about this for only a second tho, as he and Drill Sargent carefully crossed the weak floor. Terrafin had crossed without much trouble, but Drill Sargent seemed to be panicking as he moved, every crack, every shake, he flinched.*
🥊"Come On Drill! Hurry Up!"
"I-I-I a-am trying s-sir."
*He sounded nearly petrified in fear. Before Terrafin could even say one more word, a stalactite fell from the ceiling and smashed into the weak ground, a hole formed as the ground around it fell apart.*
🥊"DRILL!"
*Drill Sargent then dashed as fast as his wheels could take him, but he didn't make it. Drill Sargent fell right near the edge as Terrafin tried to grab onto his drill. But all that attempt achieved was Terrafin falling in with him as the Molekin gasped and screamed in horror.*
*After a little bit, Terrafin began to open his eyes and look at his situation. He was stuck in what seemed to have been an abandoned part of the mine, it was old, dark, and tight. He knew it'd also be nearly impossible to get back by going up. So him and Drill would have to go deeper into the old mine. Drill!? Where was that metallic headache?*
🥊"DRI-Arghh!"
*Terrafin then gripped his ribs, sweet Ancients please don't be broken, especially not now. This was getting worse every second. No time to handle that though, he had to find Drill.*
🥊"Drill, gah Where are you?"
*He struggled to walk as he searched. He soon found Drill Sargent, petrified as he slightly rocked himself back and forth, right in the corner, his "breathing" was erratic and panicked.*
"M-m-malfun-malfunction. T-t-trapped again, W-will be forgotten. G-go to sleep again, d-do-don't want to go to sleep. W-won't be found. L-lost, e-everthing going wit-without me. E-everthing d-dying without me. N-no one will look."
*Terrafin couldn't believe it. Drill Sargent, the machine that felt so emotionless so often, the Arkeyan that followed every order without a hint of fear, was now stuttering and sputtering, his drill arms over his head like a scared child, he was rocking himself in a futile attempt to calm himself. Terrafin had never thought about this, till today. Drill Sargent was forgotten underground, and slowly shut down in a hopeless prayer to be found, until he found him. Terrafin's chest twinged but not in his ribs, but his heart, the ache from guilt. Terrafin had always treated Drill Sargent like a problem, an annoying child, but he realized why today. Drill Sargent only is here cause Terrafin found him, Drill Sargent needed someone, anything. And chose Terrafin.*
🥊"Oh gosh. I-I always gave the little guy such grief for bothering me. H-he's just wanted to show how grateful he is."
*Terrafin stared before making up his mind, he walked up to the shaking Arkeyan, and placed his hand on his shoulder.*
🥊"H-hey Drill. W-we're going to be okay."
*Drill Sargent twitched at the touch, but realized it was Terrafin, and turned slowly to look at him. Eyes fully dilated and looked like he would be crying if he could.*
"S-sir, w-we're trapped. Th-there's no es-escape. W-we will be forgotten. N-no one will f-find us. I-I'll watch yo-you die. I- I can't do it again. I-I j-just can't."
*He continued to spiral, falling apart as his breathing gets faster and his words slured together in panic as its like his mouth can't get the words out fast enough. Terrafin grabbed his other shoulder gently and shakes him once.*
🥊"Hey! We're Going to be okay, we'll figure this out. Don't worry. I'm here, you're not going to be left behind."
*Drill Sargent still looked so scared, so afraid, but it looked like it helped, even if just a little.*
"B-but What i-f we c-"
*Before Drill Sargent to finish his worry, Terrafin did something he rarely does. He pulls the Arkeyan into a hug. Tight, and comforting holding Drill Sargent so close.*
🥊"Stop thinking about those worries, they won't help. We can do this. Okay?"
*Drill Sargent began to calm down even more, his shaking stopped as he processed what Terrafin is saying. Before replying.*
"O-okay. Y-yes, w-we can."
🥊"That's right. We'll get out of here, I promise."
*Drill Sargent slowly nods before finally letting go. As Terrafin puts him down. Winching as he realized that lifting a large robot while having a possibly broken rib was an awful idea.*
🥊"Now, lets investigate."
*The two start to walk through the winding caverns as Terrafin could feel his injury growing worse.*
"S-sir. Y-your rib is injured. W-we must stop."
🥊"No, I'll be fine. I promise we'd find our way out."
"B-but sir. You could gain an infection and d-die."
🥊"I won't, we have to hurry."
"H-how will we possibly find our way out?"
🥊"We'll figure out something. Do you think you can drill up."
"M-maybe. I-I would need to be pointed up."
🥊"Got it."
*Terrafin then lifted Drill Sargent till he was straight up, his legs staggered at the weight as he groans in pain.*
🥊"FIRE!"
*Drill Sargent launched his drills straight into the ceiling of this old cave, cutting through the ceiling more and more before light began to shine, it was the shine of the lanterns to the mine they were in with Diggs.*
"Th-there's n-no one up there. W-we can't get out."
*Terrafin fell to his back as Drill Sargent landed on the ground.*
🥊"W-we can't lose hope. W-we just have to keep trying."
"B-but what can we t-try?"
*Terrafin then began to yell out to the hole.*
🥊"HELP! DIGGS! ANYONE! W-WE NEED HE-HELP!"
*There was no replies, and Terrafin's last bit of strength had left him, his voice broke and cracked as he began to fade into unconsciousness. Drill Sargent was frozen. I-it was the end. But then Drill Sargent looked at Terrafin, he tried so hard to save the both of them, i-it felt wrong to give up, h-he needed to at least try. He then began to make as much noise as possible, his engine rumbling, his drills launching, and his turret firing. But he turned on something else, something else he never turned on, something that reminds him of those years trapped underground. His emergency siren. It coughed and sputtered after so long, until finally. It sounded once more.*
*BWOOOOOOOOOW! BWOOOOOOOOOOOOW!*
*Everytime the siren sounded, flashbacks of those years forgotten flooded back to Drill Sargent, but he couldn't care less. His energy slowly drained away as he desperately tried to make himself heard. He soon needed to turn it all off, just to hope someone heard.*
"…… come on, someone locate us."
*Throughout the caves, there was nothing, no sounds. Drill Sargent's hope slowly began to fade. Panic began to regrow…until.*
⛏️"I-I heard it down here!"
*…Diggs? Drill Sargent could hear the footsteps of multiple molekin. Th-they were heard. Drill Sargent sounded his siren as loud as it could go.*
"D-D-DOWN HERE! F-FOLLOW TH-THE SIREN!"
*the footsteps got louder as soon through the hole, Diggs head sticked out.*
⛏️"D-Drill Sargent! Terrafin! Are You Two Down There!?"
"A- AFFIRMATIVE! We Are Both Here!"
⛏️"are you both okay?!"
"NEGATIVE! Terrafin has a severe rib injury that must be examined as quickly as possible."
⛏️"O-okay! We'll Lower A Rope!"
*He then turned to another molekin."
⛏️"QUARY! TR-TRY AND CONTACT EON!"
*Everything was happening, but Drill Sargent only had one thought, he wasn't forgotten down here, he was found. H-he wasn't alone. Terrafin saved him. Once again.*
There we are, the story is done. Hope you loved it.
