Touched up the Milky Way model in Dimension 2, extending the spiral arms so that it's actually about 90,000 light-years across rather than barely half of that. The texture I made that the model is based on is rather fictitious, but it's fun to interpret it in terms of the actual known structure of the Galaxy. It appears to have 6 spiral arms, 7 if you count our Orion spur. The structure known in real life as the Scutum-Centaurus arm is two separate arms in my model, which seems like an acceptable artistic liberty given it's on the far side of the Galaxy which we don't know that much about.
I've also utilized the nebula shader to give the Sun a nice little corona.
