Are dinosaurs cool?
Yes.
Does it work in the setting? No.
Do I get to play as Erik the Red? No. I'd have to support Aethelred the Unraedy! One of the worst English kings.
And Brütal Legend proved that action/RTS hybrids are a rather bad idea.
Overall, anyone that played a brief demo had fun the whole time.
You apparently also have to actually hunt for the eggs yourself, but then they have sentry towers that use pterosaurs.
In all honesty, the devil is in the details with this one. Their website doesn't even have a shortlist of dinosaurs.
Your character seems extremely generic. Maybe if you can customize your character, livery, and heraldry?
WarIII gave you hero units with a lot more personality, because they didn't need to make a generic viewpoint character.
And, sadly, my carpal tunnel does not work well with mouse-controlled games.
TL;DR: It does look fun. The strategy might add depth. Having to find individual dinosaur eggs is a great way to limit the dinosaurs in the game, but then they have buildings that just automatically use dinosaurs.
It seems to be based off the premise that dinosaurs are cool, rather than dinosaur eggs being a limited resource you have to make the best out of.
Honestly seems like a game a lot of people would love, and a game we'd need to succeed in order to develop a new gaming industry, considering the old one is dead set on their suicide pact.
