You've seen SingleDad!Robert, but have you seen a Robert thats actively hiding an unplanned transmasc (or omegaverse im not opposed), and/or cursed-by-a-witch/scientist pregnancy during the events of Season 1?

(*after the prologue fight with the Red Ring/Shroud + Mecha Man explosion*) Medical Official: "You were in a four week coma." Robert, in hospital bed: "Shit." Medical Official: "Your mech suit was destroyed." Robert: "Fuuuuuck!" Medical Official, flipping page on clipboard: "You're also a couple of weeks pregnant." Robert: "Son of a- oh wait I knew that." Chase, contacted as next of kin: "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU KNEW!?"

Robert tries to ignore the situation all the way up until it goes on medical record that he's pregnant. This... new thing can wait until he has his revenge. Of course the destruction of the mech suit + Chase finding out about Robert's condition puts a screeching halt to that plan.

Chase and Vitalia (who I def hc as the worrying mother hen of the old brigade) are nearly force-feeding him vitamins and solid foods, since Robert's diet consists mainly of sweets and coffee. Chase doesn't so much recommend Robert to the SDN, as he threatens him to join.

Chase: "Or I swear to god, I'll resurrect your daddy and I'll have you grounded for the rest of your muthafucking life!"

Blonde Blazer/Mandy def knows, Chase told her specially to keep Robert out of trouble. Press conference still goes poorly. Robert mourns the fact he can't drink alcohol at Crypto Night (ice water and lime tasty tho). Flambae still gets humiliated by his old nemesis.

Robert doesn't tell anyone on the Z-Team about his condition, but they figure it out anyway. Most figure it out from seeing Robert during the meeting in Episode 3, but others are a little faster/slower to connect the dots.

Invisigal/Courtney was in the conference room when Robert and Blazer were discussing work and parental supports. Visi's "dad bod" comment is a little more applicable. She seems a lot more guilty for some reason. Has to physically restrain herself from punching Robert in Episode 2 cus she aint that low.

Sonar/Victor heard it the moment Robert walked into the breakroom after the 1st Shift.

Sonar: "Uhhh... you got that uh... other heartbeat checked out, Bro-bert?"

Robert, deadpan: "Yeah."

Sonar, sweats nervously: "Cool! Cool cool."

Sonar is desperately trying not to spill the beans to the rest of the team. Their dispatcher is a tiny pregnant dude who orders them around like a military general. It's hilarious (and kinda hot).

Flambae is... probably is one of the last to know. The only reason he figures it out is from recognising the prenatal vitamins on Robert's desk (he'd seen his niece's mom take them before). He explodes in more ways than one.

Prism is the one to tell everybody to stfu about it until Robert tells them all directly. It's his own damn business. Not-so-subtly sends Robert cute baby videos on the team group chat.

Malevola: "lol. Robert's soul looks like it swallowed another- wait."

Punch Up/Colm was like one of the last to figure it out, only because he wasn't paying attention. Robert still catches friendly fire at Sardines - Punch Up is mortified.

Coupe/Janette suspected it since Crypto Night. Antibiotics/painkillers or not, what other sort of person (other than those with severe heart conditions) would order a caffeine and alcohol-free drink at a bar? She stalked Mecha Man for a bit after that, and her suspicions were proven correct. She thinks its admirable he continues to work in spite of his condition, even if he's been (semi-forcibly) demoted to desk duty.

Golem/Bruno didn't suspect until he bumped against Robert in the hallway before their 2nd Dispatch. The tiny dispatcher was carrying a box of office supplies + dog in a weird way, and Bruno politely carried it to Robert's desk without question. The construct has carried heavy stuff for pregnant people before, no biggie. Despite being a little more cautious, he still accidentally hits Robert with the conference room door. Bruno is mortified to realise that the pregnant guy he helped earlier is their pain-in-the-ass dispatcher. Apologies profusely as Robert hits him with a chair.

Waterboy/Herman found out like seconds after meeting Robert/Mecha Man in the lobby. Robert had gotten pretty close while fixing his tie, and Waterboy swears he felt something kick him. His brain fries a lil bit seeing Robert in his civvie SDN uniform, a distinct bump on display. Answers to Robert like a gotdang soldier afterwards.

Phenomaman, as delicate as always (/sarcasm): "I must congratulate you, Third Robert Robertson! We must celebrate!"

Robert has to politely excuse himself + inform Phenomaman that pregnant people can't eat raw fish. Phenomaman makes a mental note to research other hazards he must keep safe from the smaller man. Are melons safe? He must restrain himself from accidentally harming his new companion.

Royd/Roy was warned by BB about Robert's condition so they can make a more long-term game plan for what to do with the mech suit. It certainly gives Royd a lot more time to research. He still meets Robert in the bathroom, albeit the smaller man in the stalls with morning sickness rather at the urinals. Royd will physically carry Robert away from messing with the mech suit if he has to. He doesn't want to risk learning what the Pulse could do to a hāpai person.

(Bonus spice: natural or not, the other genetic parent is a member of the Z-Team)

The "housewarming" party in Episode 6 is also one-part baby-shower. Cus none of Robert's friends trust he actually has any childcare supplies in his apartment.

Robert has no idea how to handle all this new attention/support. He just wants some gotdang twinkies and chocolate.

So Dispatch AUs currently playing ping pong in my head

Ghost au. Robert dies in the explosion n his ghost haunts the suit. Leading him to follow the suit to SDN office, which could lead to the phantom dispatcher. Or Royd haveing spooky suit repairs with a ghost.

Priestablished Z team au. The Z team is sent to help Mecha Man and its in that fight while overwhelmed by Red Ring the suit is horrible damaged, leading Robert to take a leave from hero work. But for the brief time Mecha Man the Z team worked together was enough for Blond blazer to beg chase to have Roberts info to plan a interview for a teaching/leading position.

Love the coffee shop aus ive seen floating around, but man really feels like waiter/dishwasher. Any job were Robert is workin that could have him have casually bump into anyone from Z team to villains alike. Any general crime or exchange

Retired hero au. Robert retiring early or loosing the suit early and has kinda moved on from hero work, n finally reaches out to Chase n most of my ideas are just Robert n Chase hanging out while Chase bitches about the Z team. Little snap shots of Chase telling Robert about stuff n Robert putting the heroic speach on for Chase. Office rumors claim Chase paying a sad white man to have dinner with him then Robert is chilling with Chase on lunch brake with beef and everyones like "oh thats his friend/little brother"

Family connections au. Chase n Robert stay in touch but its not much actual conversation, eventually to keep connected better Chase sets Robert up as a 'oncall specialist/hero guild'. So if the Z team being particularly assholeish Chase got an excuse to call Robert in and have him on coms even if its thru the Mecha man voice changer.

I have a bunch of ideas around these ideas of aus but these are the ones currently winning the ping pong tournament.

After some discussing and theorizing between me and a sibling about Robert being Wasian (specifically part Korean like one of the studio co-founders), we came up with the idea of his Grandmother/Grandpa Bobby's wife being Korean.

Grandma Su-jin (수진 "gather, harvest/long lifespan" + "true/precious") met Grandpa Bobby when the soon-to-be Mecha Man was stationed in Korea as a pilot.

The blond airman stumbled over broken Korean he read from a pocketbook as he asked the local woman for help ordering from a restaurant. He awkwardly called her a "bouncy chicken" in an attempt to call her something more flattering. She called him a "stupid yankee" in response. It was love at first language fumble.

It was a time of great political unrest on both sides of the Pacific, and Bobby and Su-jin had grown up witnesses to different horrors of war. They bonded over their shared hope for humanity despite their disillusionment in their respective governments.

When the yankee pilot was ordered back home, Su-jin stubbornly followed him. They were married before they even made it back to California.

Bobby and Su-jin combined their respective understanding of military vehicles and tactics to create what would be officially known as the first non-superpowered hero in the public eye.

Their time on earth together only ended when Bobby's life did.

Su-jin, heartbroken, stayed strong for her young son - whom she named Robert "Robbie" in his father's memory.

Robbie was his father's double despite inheriting his mother's dark eyes and hair. He also began to discard or ignore aspects of his heritage he deemed "Un-American". Robbie and Su-Jin didn't hate each other, but they were equally stubborn and combative. A recipe for disaster at any family gathering. Even when the junior took on his father's mantle, the pair's relationship was rocky at best.

Robbie would come back into contact with his mother once more however. When his own son was born.

Robert (or "Bobo" as Grandma took to calling him since it annoyed the overly-serious child), was far closer to his grandmother than to any other family member. Save for honorary big-brother Chase course. Robert inherited his grandmother's sharper features and sun-kissed freckles - his reddish-brown hair and doe eyes being remnants of whomever Robbie had created him with.

Robert has many memories of spending whole days in his grandmother's care. The elder woman taking him to all of her favourite haunts in the city, where he grew up listening to the chatter of other immigrant women, and playing with children who had no idea he was a superhero's heir.

Grandma's second-greatest heartbreak was when Robbie was killed by Elliot Conners/Shroud.

Poor relationship or not, he was still her little Robbie.

Grandma's heart sank even further when Robert went missing - taking his father's suit with him in a bid to seek revenge or catharsis. She wilted like a flower missing sunshine.

Chase kept the old woman updated on Mecha Man Blue's escapades. He knew that no matter how powerful that suit was or how high Mecha Man climbed the ranks of heroes, Su-jin would worry for the little boy she remembered him as.

Robert finally reunites with his grandmother after the explosion that nearly kills him.

She is at his side, scolding him like he's a child burned by a hot pan. Through her angry tears, she makes Robert understand that she cannot take the loss of another Robertson in her life. He is all that remains of her husband, her son, and all that they built together. She doesn't care if she has to bubble-wrap him to keep him safe!

Robert agrees to try and take better care of himself from now on.

It's welcome to have someone looking out for him again, even if Grandma has no sense of privacy, and will show up at SDN unannounced to bully Robert into eating a solid meal.

Grandma Su-Jin: "You're too skinny! You can't fill your belly with nothing but sweets! It's just like when you were little, too many sweets, and you don't eat your dinner!" Z-Team, on-call: (*absolutely dunking on their dispatcher for having his grandma treat him like a lil kid!*) XD Robert: (*dying of embarrassment*)

I just like the idea of Robert being wasian and having a doting grandparent.

Single Dad!Robert Robertson ideas

The apartment is a lot less bare, mainly because Robert actually uses the bedroom for its intended purpose. Nothing fancy, mostly stuff for the kid(s). He sleeps on the floor on an air mattress while the kid(s) have their own convertible cribs/beds. 9 times out of 10 the air mattress is invaded by Beef and/or cuddly kiddos wanting to stay close to their dad.

Being responsible for little humans with specific needs, means that Robert is forced to take better care of himself. Not only to keep up with raising the kid(s), but to set a good example. How is he supposed to enforce a bedtime when he doesn't seem to have one? If the kid(s) have to eat vegetables, he's gonna have to eat some too.

Robert is the kind of parent that will go hungry to make sure his kids eat full meals. He doesn't even really think about feeding himself. When the kid(s) get older and start noticing this trend, they insist on sharing their food with Dad.

Chase puts his foot down on Robert's destructively selfless behavior. His ass is getting 3 square meals and a full night's rest, gotdamn it! How is he supposed to keep up with the kid(s) when they hit peak dumbass age?

More people from the past come up in Robert's life if he has kids. I do love the idea of Vitalia (the healer of the Brave Bridage) reconnecting with Robert and acting as a aunt/grandmotherly figure to his kids. She's almost as bad as Chase when it comes to making Robert take care of himself.

The Mecha Man Blue explosion + the 4 week coma shakes Robert a lot more. He gambled his revenge over possibly leaving his kid(s) orphaned. He almost repeated history. He wants to continue doing good, even as Mecha Man, but he doesn't want to miss out on anymore time with his family.

Robert has *BAD* separation anxiety, made even worse after his coma. He's the kind of new parent who'd call a doctor everytime something new and explained presented in his baby. He'd (barely) sleep next to his kid's crib to make sure they didn't stop breathing at night. On the first day of kindergarden/pre-school, *he* was the one freaking out. If he has small baby, he's not letting them out of his sight for even a minute. He'll work at SDN wearing a baby sling, he don't care if the team notices.

The Z-Team are *not* prepared for Robert's handling skills. They act like children, he's gonna treat them like it. He's spent two hours this morning negotiating a toddler to wear shoes - he's ready to play ball with ex-supervillains.

Robert: "I have a little scoreboard in my cubicle. Everytime you do well on a call, or work well in a group, I add a star. Any sabotage or creating calls of your own means I take stars away. Whoever has the highest amount of stars by the end of week gets a reward."

Flambae: "This is bullshit. We're aren't fucking kinder-"

Sonar, hushing: "Ssh, ssh! Rewards, you say?"

It works surprisngly better than the branch's ranking system.

Robert would introduce his kid(s) to each Z-Team member one-on-one. He wants to gauge how the team acts around them + if his kid(s) are afraid of any of them. Golem is currently the kid(s) favorite, to the rest of the team's envy.

In my current idea "Forth Time's the Charm"; Robert has both a 3/4 year-old toddler, and a nearly-year-old baby. The Z-Team are surprised and kinda smitten with how natural a dad Robert seems. Robert may also be pregnant. The Z-Team are debating furiously on who the other parent(s) could be. Robert is too amused at first to explain that there is no other parent - there was a mishap with a witch/powers/finding baby in lab that led to him becoming a dad.

When it comes to finding love, Robert puts his kids first. He's upfront about it - they're a package deal. Any prospective suitors need to understand that. If any one be wanting that cookie, they're gonna have to be vetted by not only Robert, but his kid(s), Chase, Vitalia, and anyone else invested in Robert's emotional well-being.

That being said, any Z-Team romantic interests have to learn to get along with Robert's kid(s) if they want any chance of romancing him.

In an omegaverse sense/au; the team would see Robert as a member of their pack, and therefore his kid(s) their collective pup(s).

The Z-Team are the kind of people to show up unanounced at eachother's family events. Robert has been blindsighted by 8+ people joining him to watch his kid perform in their school play. The team nearly get thrown out of the concert hall for cheering too loud when Robert's kid came on stage.

If Shroud ever threatened harm against Robert's kid(s) - the Z-Team would kill him.

Episode 3 AU Route/Bonus Level idea: The Gala

"Radiant Valor: A Night of Triumph"

Robert convinces Blonde Blazer to let him exhibit the Z-Team at the fancy gala SDN is sponsoring. If it all goes well, the Phoenix Program will receive greater public support and funding, and Robert won't need to cut anyone from the Z-Team.

IF the ex-supervillains can behave themselves of course...

Robert, on call: "Alright team, you've likely received the news that someone will be cut. Good news - I've made a compromise with Blonde Blazer. How many of you know about the Radiant Valor gala?" Invisigal: "You're not making us serve cocktail wienies to rich assholes, are you?" Sonar: "Vanderstenk has been posting about it on socials. It's a high-profile event. One with many interesting business opportunities." Robert: "Well, good news. You won't exactly be working the event - you'll be attending it." Z-Team: (*audible confusion*) Robert: "The Phoenix Program needs a public makeover. If we can convince the SDN sponsors it's not a waste of everyone's time, Blonde won't need to cut anyone from the Z-Team." Z-Team: (*excited chatter!!*) Prism: "Alright, we see you! I'll need to set up a livestream for my followers though. I'mma look too damn good to not be seen!" Flambae, slight panic: "Are you serious!? I have nothing to wear! I normally get more than a day's notice for these kinds of things!" Coupe: "Although I dislike attending public events, the intel I'd gather is worth it's weight in gold... also an author I enjoy is in attendance. I wish to obtain their autograph." Golem: "We might need to tag out to get ready, baby." Robert: "That's fine. As long as we keep a steady pace for today's shift. I need you guys to prove to me and Blazer that you have what it takes to set the Phoenix Program ablaze." Malevola: "That was corny as hell dude." Punch Out: "Will we be seeing yourself there, lad?" Robert: "Don't worry, I'll be there. I've told Blazer I'll be on guard to make sure you guys BEHAVE yourselves." Flambae, mischievous: "Us? Misbehave? What could possibly give you that impression?" >:3 Robert: (*tired sigh. He's in for a long shift*)

The rest of that day's shift goes as expected. Though instead of sabotages; the Z-Team members keep dropping out to go shopping/prepare themselves for the next night. Flambae leaves multiple times to get his hair did, eyebrows waxed ("What eyebrows?" "Fuck you!"), and to choose an outfit for the night.

Visi still tries to quit to "save everyone the hassle" - Robert still refuses to let her give up. Lightingstruck is still captured. The Z-Team drag Visi into their pre-gala preparations to celebrate.

Then the Z-Team learn that Robert plans on attending the Gala in his regular SDN uniform...

Robert, only slightly less grungy in his powder-blue suit, attends the gala with an earpiece and a tablet. Instead of monitoring lower Torrance however, he's zoomed in to one big building. All to keep track of his chaotic team.

Blonde Blazer looks like she's running a social marathon, greeting and thanking every soul she comes across. As a public hero, and the face of SDN Torrance, the spotlight is on her. In her canon gala dress, with the addition of some cute hair accessories the Z-Teamers got her.

Chase is there as a special guest. A retired hero who destroyed his health for his people? He's like a celebrity! Although technically undercover, he's still recognised and treated with great respect from the party-goers. He's wearing an absurdly fashionable yellow suit with a hat and cane. Beef is with him too - wearing a little Trackstar-inspired bowtie.

Flambae looks amazing, but is also cruising the party for someone to bring home. May or may not trick Robert onto the dance floor. Somehow makes the flame pattern on his suit look classy.

Sonar is talking up the tech bros, and keeps wandering off with them to the unmonitored bathrooms. He is gradually losing parts of his iconic suit.

Invisigal is barely seen, which concerns Blazer greatly. Most likely wearing chunky boots, and a short pink dress that looks more at home in a high school dance.

Malevola has to juggle multiple people either asking her for a dance, or to exchange their souls. She's wearing a very stylish and spicy black pantsuit with a plunging neckline, dark jewellery decorating up her arms and horns.

Prism, to her word, is livestreaming the event from her phone; showing off the high-society of Torrance to her fans. She looks ready for the MET Gala; all decked out in her magenta/cyan toned ensemble.

Punch Up is laughing it up with the older men, smoking cigars and drinking whiskey. Demonstrates his "special move" on an ice sculpture. He's dressed in a simple green suit with suspenders.

Coupe, whenever she isn't hiding in the shadows, is fangirling over an author she's met in the crowd. When the music changes to a slow waltz, she takes Colm's hand for a dance. She's the most elaborately dressed; donning a silver Swan Lake-inspired dress.

Golem is on his best behaviour, though he has trouble navigating the crowded halls. He finds himself swarmed by little kid fans of his, and keeps them entertained away from the main party. Is wearing a large scarf repurposed into a bowtie.

Phenomaman was already invited, and arrives to the Gala still in shock from his and BB's breakup. Ends up outside, venting to a pair of hired carriage horses. He's wearing his trademark costume, with the addition of a bowtie Robert lends him.

Waterboy is brought along by Blazer to showcase a fresh face to the world of SDN. He looks like he's dressed for prom - corsage and all. Despite his nervous sogginess, he's being cooed at by all the old wealthy women that admire his dedication to his grandma.

(*mission ping! sound*) Robert, into earpiece: "Talk to me." Galen, at the other side of the gala: "The mayor hasn't come out of the bathroom in some time now, and he's expected to deliver a speech in twenty minutes." Robert, looking at his tablet: "Annnd Sonar is in there too... shit." (*switches com*) "Guys, Sonar might be holding up the Mayor in the bathroom. We need Mayor Yao's approval if we're gonna make the Phoenix Program look good." Malevola, in earpiece: "I'll handle it." (*dispatching sound!) Robert, tired sigh: "And Visi, I can see you over by the punchbowl. Anything higher than 4% and you're in trouble." Invisigal: "Spoil sport."

Just a whole chapter of the gang in fancy clothes, trying to be on their best behaviour. Meanwhile, Robert is seconds away from eating his tablet. No one gets cut. Waterboy and Phenomaman become part-time members of Z-Team. And Robert can end the night with a love interest of his choosing.

Sequel to this Pregananant!Robert post.

Officially calling this AU/idea "Forth Time's the Charm" - cus forth Robertson baby + it's origin.

Was brainstorming way Robert could have ended up in his expectant state, and I remembered that magic and witches canonically exist in the Dispatch universe. Ex: Golem was made through magic, and Punch-Up made a deal with a sorceress for his power.

Robert (afab or otherwise) ends up pregnant via magic.

Specifically because he saved/did a favour for a witch while as Mecha Man.

Witch: "You have done me a great service, child. I shall repay your kindness with whatever you desire most in this world." Robert, sarcastically: "Eh... I'm not sure how I'd fit a lifetime's supply of Twinkies into my apartment." Witch, laughing: "That is but a temporary desire! I mean to offer you the means to achieve what you've coveted all your life." Robert, wistful sigh: "I guess I've... always wanted a family? Sorry, that sounds dumb." Witch, smiles sweetly: "Not at all." (*monkey's paw curls another finger /jk*) (*weeks later*) Robert: (*staring at a line-up of positive pregnancy tests*) Robert, remembers the witch: "Damn it."

Bonus if the Witch gave Robert a weird task to perform for when he was ready to build his family, and Robert accidentally did it too soon. For example there's fairytales where a fairy/witch asks the childless person to; Eat/share a magical fruit a certain way, spill their blood upon sacred ground or tree, raise and eat magic plant or two...

Witch, checking in: "How is your family tree?" Robert, confused and nausous: "So yeah, I've been taking care of that weird bonsai thing you gave me. Keeping it in indirect sunlight, watering it lightly, venting to it, you know all the good stuff. The other day it even sprouted a fruit." Witch: "How wonderful! Now, it's important that you only consume the fruit when-" Robert: "Oh, I already ate it. My dog kept trying to get at it, and I didn't want him to get sick if it was bad for him." Witch: "...what?" Robert: "Is... that not what I was meant to do? It's not like, poisonous if I eat it too early right?" Witch, amused cackle: "No, no! You followed the instructions provided! It's just that, you should have probably waited until you were ready to sprout your family tree." Robert: "Huh? What do you mean by that-" (*sudden wave of morning sickness*) "Oh crap."

Robert most likely flubs the instructions cus he didn't think the witch was legit. He's very much a practical sci-fi superhero, and probably doesn't put much stock into magic.

Until he can confidently say "A witch got me pregnant".

Chase: "A witch!? Seriously!?" Z-Team: (*hysterical with laughter!*) Punch-Up, laughing: "You gotta pay attention to the instructions, lad!" Malevola, as if reminiscing: "Ah, Lokisdottir claims another." Robert, many months along: "Yeah, yeah, laugh it up. At least I got free magic IVF."

Dispatch fics got a hella amount of omegaverse in it, so imma say my piece since I am very interested in the concept of secondary-transgenderism (trans²?);

Robert Robertson is AFAB + presented alpha/beta at puberty, and has a whole host of mental health stuff and internalised misogyny from identifying as a male omega. He knew he was a guy early on, even without Astral's toxic-level masculine bare-bones parenting. But its only into Robert's adult life that he realises; "Wait... I don't have to be an Alpha/Beta? Thats a thing??"

Meanwhile, the rest of the Z-Team are sitting across the table like: "Yes??? Ain't nobody told you that?"

Flambae, most macho alpha Robert has ever met: "I'm OAP [Omega at Presentation] and I shut that shit down fast. Took my folks a bit to come around to it, but they support me."

Coupe: "I am a self-made omega woman in many ways. I took it upon myself to make up for what nature denied me."

Robert: (*mind-freaking-blown!*) :O!

Prism: "Y'all, I think we cracked his second egg."

Golem, no gender: "...wait does this make Robert like, trans squared?"

I refuse to believe a world of superpowers doesn't have the medical or magical capabilities for somebody to change their greek letter.

Robert comes out (for a second time) to Chase, and the older Beta is just like: "I already knew. Why you think I let you make nests all the time as a kid? I knew your ass wasn't an alpha/beta like your dad said you was."

Robert's apartment gets invaded by the Z Team once more for a "second gender reveal" party. They bring balloons, and a cake with "Ω ω"s written on them. They give him the number of the 2nd-gender doctor/super Flambae uses.

Mandy even offers to change Robert's designation on his official records. She knows how difficult it is to tackle one's gender identity. (i hc that the amulet makes BB appear Alpha to other people, but its not her true 2nd gender).

Robert is lil overwhelmed by all the support he gets from his friends/butthead ex-villains. :')

Robert's first "born" (i.e. he got her from a plant a witch gave him) Rosie is very prickly. Not just in personality, but literally grows rose thorns on her body like hair. This means that despite being fairly affectionate, Rosie is at risk of hurting others if she forgets her thorns. It makes her sad.

Sidenote: because of Rosie's thorns, Robert had to use oven mitts and similar to hold her when her plant powers started to manifest. Think of that porcupine baby in Bojack Horseman.

Robert and Rosie are also starting to butt-heads due to the eight(going on nine)-year-old legitimately wanting to carry on the Mecha Man legacy. Due to her stunted size and relatively weak powers, Rosie believes that there's no other way for her to become a hero besides the Suit and by extension - the Astral Pulse (foreshadowing). However, Rosie's opinions begin to change after chameeting a certain Phoenix Program hero with similarly reduced height.

Rosie's powers have an... unsettling condition. Roses in older folklore are associated with vampires - being both a blood-loving plant (irl roses freaking love bone and blood meal), and their thorns are said to act as barbed wire for bloodsuckers. Not to mention the fairytale connection where the baby-sprouting plant requires the blood of the parent to work. If Rosie consumes blood or bone, her plant powers go sicko-mode - the strength dependent on the similarity to human blood. Robert discovered this when Rosie's thorns sprouted for the first time. Hedge clippers and an ER visit was needed in the aftermath.

Vitalia reappears in Robert's life once Chase learns about Rosie. She's been retired from active hero work since the passing of Robbie, and now uses her healing powers as a civilian physiotherapist. Robert swears he probably wouldn't have survived Rosie's terrible twos without her. The girls adore their glamorous "Auntie Thalia" very much, even if she's somehow more protective than their dad.

During the Mecha Man vs Flambae fight; the hero actually jumped out to tend to the fire-villain's injuries. Mecha Man was present in the ensuing trial, and gave his opinion that Flambae's act of arson may have been one of self-destruction rather than malice, given that it took place at night and no civilians were injured. This got Flambae's sentence reduced, at the cost of putting him on 24 hr safety watch.

Robert hadn't been involved in a case so closely before, and felt it necessary to check in on the fire-villain after he spent some time in prison. Mecha Man kinda rage-baits and reverse-psychology's Flambae into declaring his intent to surpass Mecha Man as a hero. Robert wishes him well in that endeavour.

Robert and Chad (Flambae) accidentally meet in civvie-mode after the Mecha Man Blue explosion, but before Robert was well enough for the press conference. It was the first time since the coma that Robert was able to take the kids out for a day at the park, and Rosie befriended a fiery little girl there with her uncle. Robert and Chad have a casual talk about their respective kiddo having powers/physical traits with the chance to cause harm (Rosie's thorns, the niece's fire powers), that spirals into a heart-to-heart about feeling like they've missed out on too much of their lives. The exact contexts are unsaid; Robert's hero work + coma, and Chad's supervillainy + jail time, aren't exactly stuff you bring up to a stranger. The two families leave the park cautiously optimistic of their new friends (and maybe more if the number Chad snuck into Robert's pocket means anything).

Beef is the kind of dog to get tired while on a walk, and climb into the baby stroller to finish the rest of the journey. Chase has returned from walks around the park/neighbourhood with Beef guarding a sleeping baby inside the stroller. The baby(s) don't mind in the slightest, that just means they don't have to stretch to pet him.

Robert: "He's supposed to walk when he's out." Chase, defensive: "He did walk! He walked for five minutes, took a crap, cleaned himself, then he climbed in." Robert: (*disappointed eyebrow raise*) Beef: (*happy dog noises*) Baby in stroller: (*fast asleep, subconsciously petting Beef's fur*)

Beef is also the Robertson girls' best friend in the whole wide world. He was adopted just around the time Rosie was sprouted. He's about nine years old now, so Robert lets him get away with everything.

Robert is required to undergo 911 dispatch training alongside his regular shifts at SDN. It prepares him for the worst possible calls. He hugs his kids super tight afterwards.

Abigail/Abby makes a... splash on Robert's first day at SDN. Specifically during the scene where Robert is arguing with Visi after the Granny's incident. When Visi did the "went invisible and yelled" bit, Abby's response (still grumpy from Sonar's screech) was to copy the power of a different super. Everyone in the room was surprised and a little bit disgusted. And for Robert; worried that the 1-year-old had eaten something that disagreed with her. Visi immediately shut up and left without saying anything (asshole or not, she wouldn't punch a guy holding a baby). Sonar compliments the baby's aim. It's only afterwards when Robert runs into Waterboy that he pieces together that Abby used her Copying Ability to replicate the new recruit's unique water generation.

Abby mainly hangs out at Robert and Chase's desks in a pack-and-play or a carrier. She developed pretty bad separation anxiety after Robert's hospital stay, and will literally scream and turn into a monster if she can't find him. Robert doesn't want to admit that he also has anxiety giving his girls more independence.

The Z-Team as a whole meet the girls during Episode 3. Robert giving this huge inspirational speech in the conference room while a baby rocks happily in her carrier. Learning that their dispatcher refused to cut any member of the Z-Team, encouraged by the words of his furiously noble-minded 9-year-old daughter. (Rosie: "You're supposed to help them, not kick them out! You're just gonna make them bad guys again!")

The Z-Team will literally destroy anyone that harms the girls - mortally and/or socially. They love their tiny superfans.

Abby becomes best friends with Golem's adopted kaiju baby. Because of Abby's unique transformation/copying power, she's able to interact with Baby Kaiju like an equal and not worry about getting hurt accidentally. Robert offers parenting advice to the 20-year-old mud man, as the kids wrestle in the background.

Robert is still somehow pregnant. No one is really sure how cus he forgot to tell anyone it was magic-assisted. Flambae/Chad does a lot of confused math when he first finds out about it. (Chad: "Did we-? No, no, we didn't... Unless...") Depending on the level of Z Team polyamory, everybody in the gang is doing some confused mathematics.

Shroud is literally dumbfounded to learn that Robert is a dad now. Like, what do you mean you became a single dad in your 20s!? Your dad- no, wait, Chase raised you better than that! Kinda gets a bit creepy, stalking Robert and the girls. Depending on how things really were between him and Robbie... those could be his granddaughters. One of which seeks the Astral Pulse like he does...
