The dispensation at the panchayat level here (Palamau, Bihar) hardly matters. The circle officer is the real power on revenue and land matters and in this small world, his powers are immense. For poor adivasis trekking long distances to reach him, it is always an arduous and often a futile pilgrimage. Yet, nothing can happen without him.

Important reminder

The exam period is soon at the door, and while we all are very busy, it is important to remember that it takes universities up to 6 weeks to process an application for dispensation. Therefore, if you need dispensation in regards to your exam(s), please apply for it now. If you are unsure, whether or not you apply for dispensation, or how to apply at all, you can either contact the school e.g. your student counsellor or check the university’s webpage. Either way, remember to ask/check what kind of documents you will need to apply e.g. a doctor’s note (for those with mental health problems) or a rapport from the school’s special needs counsellors e.g. reading-/writing counsellors (or what they are called in your country). Please take the time and look into it if relevant for you as you deserve the same opportunities as everyone else. Or help spread to the word to help out other students

Man Of Regrets

“Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.” Deut 4:9NIV

Can you imagine the heartbreak and grief Moses had in saying ‘goodbye’ to the Israelites? Here are the people he had shepherded for over forty years. He’d interceded for them, when God wanted to cast them aside for their rebellion. Daily, he’d watched them grumble, complain, rebel and turn their backs on God. They’d angered Moses so much, he too had rebelled and lost his right to go over into the promised land.

Throughout Deuteronomy, Moses reiterates what he’d taught the Israelites, the laws, ways to be pleasing to God; where they’d come from; what they’d been through; where they were now going. Emotionally, it had to be a very tough place for Moses to endure— for no matter how much he had talked and prayed, God didn’t relent. “At that time I pleaded with the Lord:… Let me go over and see the good land beyond the Jordan—that fine hill country and Lebanon. But because of you the Lord was angry with me and would not listen to me. “That is enough,” the Lord said. “Do not speak to me anymore about this matter.” 

Moses was the last man to die, out of all those who rebelled against the Lord. Written by a man of regrets, Deuteronomy is a book of do what I say! Don’t make the mistake I made. 

Check out God’s mercy! After his rebellion—  ***Moses was entered into Paul’s hall of faith in Heb 11:26-27NIV “He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward. By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw Him who is invisible.” *** Moses didn’t get to enter into the ‘promised land,’ but he entered the land promised to every born again believer— heaven! And “…appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus” Mt 17:3NIV.

All of us have regrets. But we all have an awesome, glorious Savior who forgives ALL of our sins. He heals our regrets and restores our souls. 

When satan says, ‘you blew it. God’s mad and there’s no hope.’ 

Remind him of his future and the grace you live in. 

Tell him— if Moses could blow it, before the dispensation of grace and still be in heaven— you’ve got a greater hope because of Jesus.

“Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?…” Rom 8:34-35ESV. Will you take a chance to believe? It’s your choice. You choose.

PRAYER: Father God, praise You for grace! Thank You a billion times over for Your keeping grace holding us. Help us to not only praise You, but to share You with everyone we come in contact with, in Jesus’ name I pray.
