For the FMA meme: 1, 2, 9, 21?

1.) What type of Alchemy would you use?

I’m not actually sure yet…? I’m a little bit STEM challenged at the moment (hoping to improve that during the summer in my free time) and I don’t know any branch of science well enough to know which I would use in my alchemy. If I could, I would manipulate pitch frequencies as a way to harm the enemy in a subtle way, as well as using it to calm people as a sort of healing alchemy, but since that’s manipulation of sound waves rather than matter I don’t think that kind of alchemy would be possible… something that incorporates music or sound would definitely be my dream alchemy job, though.

2.) What would your state alchemist codename be?

Haha, Wrath would pick out something stupid for me, I’m sure. If I was a music alchemist somehow, I’d probably be something like the Dorian Alchemist or something else that references music, but I really can’t think of anything good to be called… xD

9.) Which theme song do you find yourself singing the most/the catchiest?

I really enjoy both OP1 and OP4 of Brotherhood, and I can play the first OP pretty well on the piano and sing it in English (I only have the first few lines in Japanese down, unfortunately).21.) Your favorite FMA AU?

That’s so hard, I have a lot of favourites… probably my “Kimblee lives with the homunculi” one that I’ve bugged you about so many times in the past. I’ve sunk so many hours into that AU, and it’s really helped me figure out Kimblee and Envy’s characters a lot better even if I’ve actually written nothing resembling a real story yet. I also have a few other favourites that I haven’t written much of, like a Lust!Kimblee AU, the “Wormvy and Kimblee go on adventures,” one, and the one where Envy takes a wrong turn after picking Kimblee up from prison and they, along with Winry and Ghost!Isaac McDougall, go on a buddy road trip and try to save the world for some reason.

(that wasn’t just one AU I’m sorry…)

@distant-glory replied to your post : Well, sound waves are vibrations, so while you may not be able to affect them directly, you COULD manipulate the matter that they travel in—like how Roy messes with the oxygen content of the air to make his flames. You could put your transmutation circle on some kind of wind instrument and use that!

Plus that kind of talent would be useful from a communications standpoint. You could manipulate matter so that something you said could be heard far away or through concrete or something!

I hope you don’t mind me replying to this in a post, but it’s because they’re such good ideas that if I ever make an FMA self-insert she’s going to have these talents. (Why didn’t I think of how sound waves *have* to travel through matter? I mean I should know this from synchronized swimming and the underwater speakers and such. *Somebody* needs to read through her high school physics textbook again!) Thank you so much for your ideas!

7: Early influences on your writing

That’s sort of hard... I was always a big reader growing up, and when I started writing fanfic at about thirteen (first one was a Sonic the Hedgehog character study that I wish I could find again), I would always just store up neat little turns of phrases that I’d read or heard before and recycle them in my writing. My reading has always been heavily biased towards British stuff; C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, John Wyndham, Douglas Adams and E. Nesbit all wrote stories that I really enjoyed, and I feel as though my style owes greatly to their styles. I also grew up listening to my two favourite bands, Midnight Oil and The Choir, and certain words and themes that their lyricists commonly used also find their way into my stories as well to this day (Steve Hindalong from The Choir especially has recurring themes that appear in his lyrics and I’m inspired by the way that he has little in-jokes for regular listeners... I try to do the same sort of thing in my stories).

Also, in my LotR days, I was really influenced by a group of friends that I managed to worm myself into (most of whom are on my FF dot net favourites page). They’re really what got me seriously into writing fanfiction, and I copied their styles until I really developed my own in ~2016.

24: favourite scene you’ve ever written

That’s hard because most of my stories are so short that most of them only have one scene, really xD. I can’t exactly narrow it down to just a scene, but I quite like “Claire de Lune” at the moment. I was aiming to really marry the poem that I based it off of to the story, and I’m glad that I managed to do that decently well and make it fit into canon as well. That one might have two scenes if them going into the garden acts as a second one, so in that case I like the first one best. I could make Kimblee introspect for hours if it wouldn’t be deathly boring; his voice comes very naturally to me now and it’s fun describing Envy through Kimblee’s unique mindset.

44: do you write linear or do you write future scenes if you feel like it?

I generally write linearly, mainly because I really want my stories to have good overarching themes, and I feel that if I write them out of order than that idea will suffer no matter how much editing I do. This leads to me writing mainly oneshots, since I’m too impatient for anything else... I am trying to challenge myself with two different longfics, so I’m working on this. If I get a *really* good idea, I might write a rough piece so that I don’t forget the idea, and save it for later so that I have something to go back to (”Trust” from “Quandary” is an example of this; I wrote it in ~April of last year and then expanded it in September, adding the Envy POV section that wasn’t originally there and adding in a lot more detail).

I love all of these but my favourite is definitely the love letter one. Just because Envy would pretend to hate it and secretly memorise the entire thing, because this is for THEM. (There’s a whole AU plot in there, actually...)

Ahhh that’s PERFECT. I was having trouble envisioning what Envy’s reaction would be but that sounds just like them. (If you happen to have ideas for that AU please do tell--whatever it is it sounds like something I need). Glad you like them :D
