OK, has anybody read “We Can Be Mended”?

   OK, this is just a sorta a Divergent rant, because I am too mad right now. Never read this. Four and Christina get together. You know, at the end of Allegiant, I eventually accepted the fact that Tris died, but this? You can’t do this to me, Veronica. I can’t even put into words how mad this made me. I’d rather she kill Four than put him with Christina. This is just too much to handle. I can’t accept this as cannon.

I want to rant about how YA dystopian novel romances suck while I'm sick, so here we go. These are just my personal opinions, so if you like this type of stuff, good for you

First off, Hunger Games. I read this series about 2-3 years ago, and I thought the first book was pretty good until they had to put the Peta and Katniss romance in there. I do not care about angsty romance, I want to read about how corrupt the world is and I want President Snow to be tortured for all of the people he killed. I do NOT want romance, the series was perfectly good without it. I lost a lot of interest in it reading the 2nd and 3rd book. The best part of the 2nd book was Nuts and Volts, I could not care for the fake pregnancy. 3rd book was just boring as hell. Too angsty for my taste. And WHY did they kill off half of the characters I actually liked?? Their deaths felt rushed and pointless. This may just be a rant about things that piss me off in YA dystopian novels.

Second and lastly, Divergent. I didn't even finish the series. I stopped reading it in the second book. I thought the concept of Divergent was good, and I thought the world was cool but I could not CARE for Tris. I had to look her name up for this. I thought she was just boring and forgettable (although it has been a while since I read the books) I liked it at first, but same with Hunger Games, I lost all interest when it came to the romance plot. I liked Four better when he was just Four, Tobias sucked. Also the age gap in the books is about 2 years. In the movies its NINE YEARS. A 25 year old and a 16 year old. A ADULT AND A MINOR. In the books it makes more sense, since the age gap is only 2 years. I DO NOT NEED ROMANCES IN YA DYSTOPIAN NOVELS. And the second book. THE SECOND BOOK. OH MY GOD. I only was able to read until about chapter 7 because it was so boring. It was just Tris and Tobias being angsty and in love and Tris wearing oversized shirts and either shorts or no pants.

I also want to talk a bit about Harry Potter and how I completely lost interest after the 4th book. I stopped in the middle of the 5th book because OH MY GODS WAS IT BORING. I didn't even understand most of the plot! Also they did the Weasley twins dirty. Fred did not deserve to die and neither did Hedwig.

That's about it. If anyone has any good fiction books with no romance plots and/or romance doesn't become the theme in the books, please tell me.

RANT

So I just did a really unstructured rant about the Insurgent movie in my car!!! You guys I did a rant in my car. Thats something I've always wanted to do but never had the courage to do so. But by making videos for you guys I'm getting more comftorable with myself. The fact that I can only move one side of my mouth it's something I always worry about. But now I feel better. In the past I would have recorded the video and deleted it.But now I'm keeping it and I'm going to post ot tomorrow. Thanks so much you guys for making me feel better about myself. if i was in the divergent universe. i'm pretty sure i would be factionless.  they look like they're having the time of their lives doing nothing.

- I'm not smart enough to be in Erudite.

- I rarely give a fuck about other people so I wouldn't do well in Abnegation.

- HELL NO AM I GOING TO BE IN DAUNTLESS. Dauntless do to much... running... jumping... falling... moving. I mean I'm not physically able to walk sometimes. They do look super cool n shit, but like breaking every inch of my body is just not worth it.

After seeing diverget I was a little pissed. They missed out a bunch. In the very beginning they skipped the part when the hobo went up to tris and was like freaking her out and talking about the choosing ceremony and how she needs to choose the right one and then they left out the butterknife part. I understand that it was just fluff but I really did miss that scene because it kinda shows how bad of a person peter is. Also, they missed a whole lot of dialogue and character development. They didn’t even show will and tris’ talking a lot. Because of that, you don’t really know why she was so upset that she had to kill will. Also, you didn’t really see will and Christina together. All you saw them flirting. And I really wish that they spent more time on focusing on four and tris. Like they’re way more than just two people who met and kinda fell for eachother. They’re soooo much more. But I do have to say that they did a perfect job in the beginning when they were talking about different factions and such. And also, the night before the choosing ceremony was amazing. It was when they were having dinner. I’m glad that they kept that because it was just really nice and went perfectly with the book. Also, I loved the day of the choosing ceremony. You could see the shock of everyone when someone left their faction and how upset tris and Caleb’s dad was when they left abnegation. But you could actually see how proud their mom was of them and how loving she was, even though they left her. Also, the scene when they jumped on the train and jumped off was so accurate. It was exactly how I imagined it. Also, I was so happy when they fought infront of everyone. I felt like the details in the movie, and the details in the book were the same. Also I LOVED the knife scene. FOUR IS JUST AHHH. He’s way sexier than I thought and the way they unraveled his character and showed how he let his guard down to tris was so sweet and just a lot like the book. So I was very happy with it. Also, did anyone else freaking LOVE THE CATCH THE FLAG SCENE? It was literally PERFECT and was EXACTLY LIKE THE BOOK. I cannot explain how happy that made me. It was really really really good. I just have two more things I was mad at. The 1st was Al. You don’t actually see how sad he is to be there and how much he’s struggling. And they left out the sage and lemon grass part but that was just fluff and they didn’t actaually NEED that. And they didn’t NEED the butterknife part, but the more I think about it, the more it makes since. Im just glad that they got the main points across. Also, it’s way off topic to what I’m talking about right now, but I’m glad how they killed off will. Like I’m not glad he’s dead, but I’m glad they included that part because they could’ve easily left that out. And the last thing I want want to talk about is the ending. When tobias is under simulation, it’s just them TWO. not all the erudite. It’s supposed to be an intimate scene where tris is venerable and scared of what tobias is going to do. TOBIAS was supposed to shut the program down. NOT the erudite. But I understand that they had to end it someway. But the train scene at the end way very good and overall I LOVED THE MOVIE.

So I saw divergent last night and I'm just gonna give a brief little review. I love these books, these books are my babies, and i'm not gonna lie I actually quite enjoyed the movie. Is that not allowed??? Am i not big enough of fan because of that??? Yes many things were missing such as the chasm scene, URIAH LIKE WHERE THE HELL WAS URIAH, edward and the whole butter knife thing, the none-existent emphasis on Al and his whole struggle throughout the whole initiate process, tris' sexual fear landscape was also a little wrong to me, and finally i really wished they would have put more emphasis on Will and Christina's relationship. Other then that I think that all the most important parts of the book were in there. Yes a couple of things were changed, but that is to be expected when you're making a book into a movie. Like i said, I would have enjoyed having my baby Uriah and maybe getting a couple more of those heartfelt fourtris scenes but overall I absolutely LOVED it. Theo, Shai, Ansel and the rest of the cast were perfect and flawless and uGh could not have been better. Most ///emphasis on the most// of my favorite scenes were in there in one form or another. I'm actually extremely happy considering the complete train reck a couple of my other favorite books-made-into-movies have been this year..... So please don't complain over a great book being made into movie that could have been A LITTLE better. Just be happy. Be happy that you're favorite series was not made into a complete joke.

Divergent Movie Rant

OMFG I JUST WATCHED THE DIVERGENT MOVIE AND I CAN’T EVEN. I AM SO EMOTIONALLY UNSTABLE RIGHT NOW IT’S NOT EVEN OKAY. I USUALLY NEVER FREAK OUT OVER ANYTHING BUT THIS IS WORTH FREAKING OUT ABOUT. THEY CHANGED UP THE ORDER OF ALL THE SCENES AND THEY TOOK OUT MY FAVORITE PARTS. LIKE WHEN TRIS IS ABOUT TO FALL OF THE FERRIS WHEEL. AND WHEN SHE’S IN FOUR’S LANDSCAPE HE FEELS HER HEART BEAT AND ASKS HER WHY IT IS BEATING SO FAST. AND THEY TOOK OUT THE WHERE SHE DEFENDS TOBIAS FROM MARCUS. AND THE CHASM KISS!!!!!!! IN THE BOOK SHE WAS LITERALLY UNCONSCIOUS AFTER BEING ATTACKED BUT IN THE MOVIE SHE’S COMPLETELY FINE. AND THEY DIDN’T PUT “ARE YOU ASKING ME TO UNDRESS, TRIS?” “THEY TOUCHED ME” ” THAT’S MY GIRL, TOUGH AS COTTON BALLS”I WOULD ONLY GO IF THERE WAS CAKE” “MAYBE BECAUSE YOURE SO APPROACHABLE LIKE A BED OR NAIL” and “I WAS ALMOST SHOT YOU, WHY DIDN’T YOU SHOOT ME? IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE SHOOTING MYSELF” ” THE CHASM REMINDS US THEIR IS A FINE LINE BETWEEN BRAVERY AND IDIOCY”YOU LOOK TOUGH AS NAILS” “I HAVE A THEORY THAT SELFLESSNESS AND BRAVERY ARENT ALL THAT DIFFERENT. “THEN EVERYONE CAN CALL YOU SIX. THATS IMPOSSIBLE. ITS LEARNING HOW TO CONTROL YOUR FEAR AND HOW TO BE FREE FROM IT. ” ” A BRAVE MAN ACKNOWLEDGES THE STRENGTH OF OTHERS”and instead of saying Tobias to break him out of the simulation she calls him four. He didn’t even seem afraid of Marcus. Al never confessed that he liked Tris. There wasn’t enough Tris and Christina moments. They didn’t put the part where Christina tells Tris that Will kissed her. She never got reamed out in front of everyone and she never got interviewed by Eric. She was ranked number six and then number one. But in the movie she’s ranked 20. Jeanine is also there when Tobias is controlling the simulations. There is no “Fear God Alone” in Tobias’s room. In the fear landscape Marcus said Tobias name instead of Tris. And obviously there is no Uriah or Marlene or any of those people. And they don’t get a goodbye kiss when they are lead away. There is no visiting day. Edward never gets stabbed in the eye, Drew isn’t all messed up by Four. Tris never asked tori about her tattoo. She never runs into a faction less man. WHERE IS SUSAN AND ROBERT??? They never tear the clothes of her and she beats up Molly. Nobody falls from the jump from the train to the roof. Tris never comforts Al. Tris doesn’t help Will with the fear if heights and Four doesn’t get jealous. In the book Christina takes the flag instead of Tris and she gets mad at her. Never shoots a muffin off of Marlene’s head. Tris doesn’t get her abnegation tattoo. Tris is about to be executed by getting shot not water tank. JUST UGH. Don’t get me wrong I’m not hating at all just frustrated. I feel like if you didn’t read the book you wouldn’t understand the movie. There was no character development in the relationships. Tori seemed like so mean and so did Four. Ugh. There was too much technology and it had a hunger games futuristic feel which I didn’t like. There were a lot of initiates but in the book there are only 9 transfers and 11 dauntless born. OMG I NEED TO STOP COMPARING THE BOOK AND THE MOVIE. THIS IS TOO MUCH TO HANDLE.
