First: KIU - Weapons for a God -page 1- --- Pit, the Hero of Skyworld discusses the topic of divine weapons with the recently returned and reinstated Lord Zeus. --- I think the game has made it abundantly clear that Lord Dyntos is an absolute asshole who is far too comfortable in his power. Of course he would send the wrong weapons to the god he hates. (Although WHY Dyntos and Zeus hate each other, that is still under construction, bear with me pls). Oh you think I only designed the weapons? No, darling, we don't roll like that here! Here you go, all the descriptions! ---- All weapons inflict paralysis on enemies.
Storm Club The unadulterated power of a hurricane at your fingertips. The Storm Club provides fast charging and insane homing, as well as a chance to trap enemies in a tornado on the third swing. Its powerful melee is quite slow, however, so make sure you hit as many as you can.
Sky Cannon Steeped into the lightning powers of the Lord of the Sky, its charged shots carry a chain lightning along, so closely clustered enemies beware! Its continuous shots have good homing, however its melee is quite weak. This Cannon is possibly the lightest of them all, allowing the wielder to move faster and tire out later.
Thunder Arm Carrying the legacy of peace and protection from its god, the Thunder Arm may have a weak melee and furiously average range, but in return its defense is legendary. Wielding this will turn you into a proper tank that can waddle through enemies all day, and it even provides elevated resistance against all status inflictions. March on, brave soldier!
Gale Claws Fashioned from pure concentrated storms, and held together by magical ribbons resembling Lord Zeus’ coat tails, these volatile Claws are meant to bring speed and damage to a fight. They imbue their wielder with the power of the wind, raising their movement and attack speed and are best used to deliver some good old-fashioned shredding from up-close and personal. The trade-off is their abysmal range and super long charge shots. --- I hope you guys enjoyed this short comic! I am very much open for criticism, from the panel layouts to the speech bubble placements, everything is on the table! Give me your thoughts! Thank you for reading! Keep being awesome! 2021.06.27.
What do the fighting styles of the deities look like? In specific I'm curious about Bastet and Anubis, as well as Horus. My apologies if this is more than what you're comfortable revealing right now.
Hey there, and it’s no problem! It’s not so much about what I’m comfortable revealing, I wouldn’t mind sharing this! But it’s more how informed or interesting my answer will be?? I’m not as familiar with specific fighting styles / martial arts, much less about the type of fighting-styles present in Ancient Egypt – aside from mentions of wrestling and stick dance/fighting. So basically, I kinda need to do more of my own research on the front… >>
However, this is not the only thing I have in mind for DEITIES verse, because aside from sparring each other, the deities also have to be able to hold their own with demons… sometimes large and fast demons, including the likes of a certain chaos snake. So I have this very ambitious imagery of how dramatic, fluid, and even artful the deities can look in intense combat – especially when they use their divine weapons in combination with their movements and magic.
((LIKE… IDK BUT FOR ANYONE WHO SAW WONDER WOMAN– the way that Diana fights with her shield/sword/lasso?? That’s both efficient but looked pretty supernatural and like visual eye candy??? Is like… ultimate goals for what I’d wanna convey. But I digress…))
Anyway, even with this vivid imagery, I’ll have to test how well I can pull if off, and truthfully need to make time to practice with drawing everyone’s movements, where it’ll be relevant in the story. I imagine that the deities in general have a certain way of fighting that’s both practical but also obviously superhuman, due to their durability, stamina, and healing factor. Each deity adopt slightly different techniques tho and it usually depends on their roles, their instincts, and their weapon(s) or choice -- which you can find more details about in their worldbuilding notes HERE.
I’ll attempt to explain some examples for the 3 deities you mentioned, under the cut, but TL;DR I’m still figuring out the details for the way each deities will move and fight for combat scenes, that still suit their character.

Ah yes. Lord Dyntos.
I actually really hate the guy. ^^ Even moreso than I hate Dark Pit, and that's saying something!

I'm afraid no fast sketch today, because I had many MANY other works running. One of them is this 4-page mini-comic, it's finally done! I will upload the pages once a day so stay tuned!
This story was born out of a split second idea, and it has been in the works for a while now. Once again a sort of practice/learning experience in the fields of comics. It is also a quasi-collaboration, or will be in the future, hopefully. Not the minicomic itself, I've done that bastard from script to shading. A friend of mine had promised that he would design weapons for my Zeus in the game's style. Unfortunately, that was like over 2 years ago, if not more, and I have my doubts it will ever come to pass due to generic life obstacles that will not ever get out of the way.
Still, I could not let this idea go, and I just had to do it.
Hope you guys enjoy it! I am open for criticism!

Since Zeus himself is more of a glass cannon than anything else (when it comes to only attacking, with no shields involved), I figured he would gravitate towards the light/fast weapons classes.

Within DEITIES verse, the Was Scepter is among one of the earliest divine weapons used to channel energy and magic. While the Was Scepter is capable of channeling the magic energy from a deity's ka, it was also was created -- and originally intended -- to manifest a deity’s potential with controlling free-flowing [Chaos] energy.
The Was Scepter is unique in its ability to shift into nearly any weapon or tool its wielder desires, through the use of Chaos magic. Due to its ancient and chaotic origins, The Was Scepter is known [to be] a difficult weapon -- and echoing some rumors, a dangerous weapon -- for most deities to use.
So, that scepter that Set likes to use in previous backstory hints, prior to his exile? It’s kinda a big deal in DEITIES verse. So much so that it gets it’s own section of notes. Been wanting to actually flesh out a proper design for it and demonstrate some Set’s skill with using his former Divine weapon. More details can be found in the new notes for The Was Scepter. There are also some extended details regarding the Was Scepter on Patreon, and some scrapped artwork for these notes will be posted there soon!
