Simple DIY Desk / Workbench

My dad: what are you doing?

Me: looking for a project desk on fb marketplace and Craigslist.

My dad: well I’ve got an old oak desk behind the shed. It’ll need some work. But you can have it for free if you want it.

Me: perfect.

Me, 4 hrs later: I maybe underestimated how much sanding this would require.

Might be more than a weekend project but it’s going to look 🔥 when I’m done with it.

Study space without a desk (mostly essentials)

1) Pencil case with supplies

2) binder of notes (I prefer to use loose leaf paper)

3) laptop on a flat (non flammable surface)*

4) trusty planner

5) notepad for scratch (lsat practice)

6) a TV dinner table top removed from its legs due to it breaking (make shift desk)

7) favourite pen (cheap ball point pen in blue)

*tabs open to google calendar, habitica, khan academy, and my class sites. Important part of my work flow is finding my schedule and tasks easily without getting derailed by distractions.

Sunlight is my fav kinda light- it feels much nicer then the yellow overhead light in my room. Although I have found that a white light works to feel almost as good for studying.

This DIY desk is so roomy and sturdy. It looks like it’s made from doors and vintage tin ceiling tiles. What a good idea.

❥ Process of making my desk. Step dad built the desk and get the clear coat but everything else was done by my own hand. So excited to finally have it in my room!
