Faesira “faesy” lunarseeker and Castric “cas” hirinn scene
Cas walked into their old church tentatively, remembering the place they grew up, nothings changed scince they were a child except….. never mind, cas blocked the bad memeorys off and remembers the years spent with Faesy, but the memories were tainted.
They make their way the Faesys chambers and knock “this is it” they think “you have come to make amends with her” they are tempted to turn and run but they stand their ground. They have done so much in their life how could they run now?
The door opens and that famailr face appears in the doorway, her eyes were a deep almost red shade of brown and her skin was a deep shade of brown, her pointed ears adorned with piercings. She looks shocked and grabbed cas by the shoulders and brings them into her room.
“Why are you here Cas? What could’ve possessed you?” Her eyes are filled with tears “if you want to ruin my reputation I’d understand” Cas opens their mouth to speak but Faesy interrupts them “just tell me what you want from me!” “I wanted closure” Cas says softly “no you don’t! I can see it in you just tell me!” Faesy was sobbing now. “Faesy please just listen to me, please” she collapsed onto her bed and sat with her face in her hands “I regret it ok?! Is that what you wanted? An apology? Or did you want an excuse?!” Cas went and sat on the bed next to her and wrapped an arm around her shoulder “hey, I forgive you, being replaced is a horrible feeling, please just let me talk to you,” Faesy buried her face in Cas’ shoulder and sobbed, they both sat there for a while, time seemed to warp in those moments, Cas didn’t know how long it was.
“Faesy I just wanted to see you. I…” Cas trailed off “I missed you” Faesys tear soaked face looked up at Cas “I missed you too Cas, no matter how much I resented you I think about you every single day, I wished things could’ve been different. I wished things hadent ended the way they had.”
Faesy laced her fingers through Cas’ and ran her fingers over their scaly knuckles. Cas spoke softly “it doesn’t have to have been the end.” Faesy looked up at them and spoke in a whisper “I stopped believing in what they taught me. The church lied to us I just don’t know what to do”
She chocked on a sob “I won’t have anywhere to go if I leave” she sighed “I know you left but that was because of me. But you’re different. I’m weak and all I have is here. I’m nothing compared to you.” Cas looked at her “you are the strongest person I’ve ever known, and if you really want to leave, I have a cabin, you can stay there while you restart your life but your welcome to stay for as long or as little as you like” cas smiled as they spoke and Faesy looked shocked “I, uh…… look, you must be exhausted from your trip here and I need to pack you can sleep in my bed if you want while I pack”
so cas lied down in her bed and drifted into a warm dreamless slumber.
When cas awoke it was still night but they could see the sun rising through the gap in Fasys curtains. Faesira was asleep on her chair and cas didn’t want to awake her but they knew that neither of them had much time to escape.
Cas softly shook her to make her up and she jolted awake. “Come on, we don’t have much time, I have a cart and it’ll be discovered soon.” Cas tried not to sound too worried but they really really were. They helped Faesy grab her stuff and load it into the cart.
“Faesy I’m sorry for asking this but are you sure you want to leave?” Faesy looked nervous when she answered “Cas, I’ve known I wanted to leave for years, you just gave me the means to”
As the donkeys pulling the cart pulled them forward and the church shrank on the distance Cas felt more at ease but Faesy looked nervous and exhausted.
“You look tired, you should try to sleep, I’ll keep lookout” Faesy opened her mouth to protest but shrugged and lied down In the bedroll she had packed.
Once they had arrived at the cabin the sun was high above them in the sky and Faesy was somehow still asleep in the back.
Cas once again shook her awake and this time instead of jolting awake she softly woke up “look I need to tell you something kind of important about this cabin, it used to house a group of con artists who attacked me and some others, we had to fight back and, well, they are no longer living” Faesy looked shocked but calmed down “it’s fine, I’m glad you told me”
Cas helped Faesy load her stuff into the house, once everything was done cas spoke “I’m not gonna live here for much longer, just until the city stops being a mess with the kings death and all that” Faesy nodded and cas spoke again “oh! I’ll cook us dinner, I’ve missed talking to you when we eat” cas was grinning at her and Faesy couldn’t help but to smile back “I can help you cook if you’d like” she offered, “I’d love that! What do you want to eat?” Faesy thought for a moment “huh, maybe some sort of stew? Do we have any meat?” “I think so” Cas and Faesy began cooking dinner together, enjoying being reunited at last.
After they ate dinner Cas started a fire in the hearth and they talked and joked for who knows how long until they were both asleep on the floor. When they woke up they both looked at each other awkwardly and burst out laughing, laughing at how amazing it was that they were together, at how horrible their childhoods were, at how happy they were now. In the next few months Cas and Faesira planned out their futures, they agreed to stick together once they made it to the city and that Cas could work at a shop of some sort, maybe selling potions and Faesy could work at arestaurant.
Five months later they were ready, they had prepared what was left of the products from the pyramid scheme witches brew to sell in the city along with animal products like leather and milk. They packed their things and made their way into the city.
Once they were settled In their small apartment they got jobs, they didn’t have a ton of time together but they bonded a lot during that little amount of time. The apartment was far too tiny but they made it work, they slept on a medium sized bed in the corner and the rest of the space storage and they had a tiny kitchenette. When they got to see each other after their shifts they would fall asleep in each other’s arms, as much as they didn’t want to get up in the morning they both knew they needed to go to work, and sure adjusting to normal life was difficult for Cas especially, when they looked at Faesy and the way she swung her hands when she stood or the way she hummed when she thought no one could hear her and the way she always had to wear her glasses when she read and always seemed embarrassed she had to put them on(Cas thought they made her look cute) these things always made Cas remember why they did the things they did.
Once there had been a robbery at Cas’ shop and they got injured pretty badly while fighting the robber off and when cas went home Faesy insisted on bandaging them up “what were you thinking?! Do you know how much I care about you? What would I have done if I lost you?” She sobbed at them while she wrapped up their back which had been slashed with a knife during the fight when cas had tackled to the ground. Faesy stared at the line of sliver scales that ran over cas’ spine, those scales stood out on the rest of them because cas was mostly a metallic yellowish orange. Cas tried apologizing to her but they couldn’t because of how much pain they were in.
Once Faesy was done bandaging them up she wrapped cas in a hug, making sure not to touch their injuries, after she pulled away she cupped their face in her hands while she fought back tears and kissed them, she pulled away suddenly “I’m sorry that was out of line I’m sorry if I caught you off gaurd or anything” in response cas wrapped her in a hug.
