HERMIT ON HERMIT SHINY DUO DODGEBOLT!!!
dodgebolt at mcc live/vegas/twitch rivals/whatever isn't even in-game, after the final game is played they drag the top two teams down onto the floor and hand them nerf bows and tell them to go nuts
I’m still thinking about Sapnap and hbomb’s talk about mcc competitiveness and it reminds me of a tweet from aiden (from Ludwig’s podcast the yard) where he talks about how gaming for top level players isn’t “fun” as much as it’s fulfilling. I think that’s kind of where the disconnect between h and sap’s perception of the event is. To Sapnap in order to leave the event feeling good he needs to know that he did everything in his power to win. He feels happy knowing that he devised the best strategies and made the best calls as a leader (the best calls meaning the calls that will bring the team closer to winning). To hbomb, in order to leave the event feeling good he needs to know that everyone in his team felt good about their individual performance. He’s willing to make sacrifices that don’t necessarily bring the team closer to winning (like giving up time so that someone else can get a vault or letting everyone shoot in db) but make everyone in the team feel happy. To Sapnap, being a good leader means bringing the team closer to victory. For hbomb, being a good leader means everyone feels happy with their individual performance.

hey people of tumblr here’s an updated top 10 of mcc players dodgebolt skill rating, for players who have played at least 2 dodgebolts!
some fun observations
- the Dream team’s extensive db practice that they rarely used during s1 seems to have paid off— they’re the top 3 active players by a long shot
- all of the top 5 active players are currently or are confined to be roommates in the future! 50% of the players on this chart are going to be living in only 2 households. proximity power at its best!
- despite a 5-event absence in canon, technoblade still holds strong in his legacy of og dodgebolt master. Taking my techno crumbs </3
- all of the top 6 players have killed Dream in a video posted to one of his YouTube channels, including Dream himself
- in the post that inspired this one, neither Sapnap nor Illumina were in the board. They knocked out both Scott and Quig to place themselves squarely in the top 5.
hope you enjoyed! if you have the time please drop an upvote on the post from which I got the skill rating equation and the inspiration to do this!
