I have a very funny story to share but it requires some context: so, you guys know how Suez was hit by a magnitude 5.0 earthquake yesterday (So far there were no casualties reported, thankfully) and the shockwaves were felt all over Egypt, right? Now, me and my entire family are from Brazil, which is a country that experiences no seismic activity whatsoever, but my dad is currently living in Cairo for work.

With that in mind: my dad was sleeping last night and was woken up by his bed shaking and his closet doors swinging open on their own and his first, immediate thought was “Holy shit, it’s a poltergeist!” and the way his half-asleep brain decided to deal with the situation was by screaming “FUCK OFF GHOST!!! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE BITCH!!!” at the top of his lungs.

The way I found out about it was via my mom getting a text message from my dad and coming into my room running in a panic telling me about the earthquake only for him to finish typing out his story about valiantly standing his ground against the poltergeist, which made her start laughing so hard she was unable to tell me anything at all for the next couple of minutes.

So.... I discovered that my thermostat wasn't reading the correct temperature and was running low. So my eggs have been incubating at 76* for the eggs themselves. Which means a hatch day around day 95. 10 days from now. I have swapped out my thermostat, but yeah. Sometime in the next 10 days hopefully.

mri accident is literally one of my biggest anxiety freakouts. i dont care about being in the tiny loud tube, im so scared of a secret piece of metal i dont know about in my body will tear through me like a knife through butter. what if i ate a quarter in my sleep

Back when I worked at the hospital, I had to take MRI training and it was my favorite thing every time. It was only like 10 minutes long and went a little something like this:

Hey. The MRI is basically a really big magnet and by basically I mean it is and we literally never turn it off. It's like really big. Really really big and powerful and The Magnet is always on. We don't turn it off Ever, for any reason. We mean it bro, The Magnet is literally always on. It's crazy strong and will definitely kill you. So don't bring any metal into the MRI room, man. You will fuck up the machine (because The Magnet is always on) and then you will die (again, because The Magnet is always on). Here's some fun questions for you to test your understanding!

3) How often is The Magnet on?

6) The Magnet is usually on but we know to turn it off for you because you're a very special boy :) T/F
