Dear jogger who thanked me for keeping my dogs on the grass and unable to throw their itty bitty fuzzball bodies in front of her feet and/or chase her,
Who made that necessary? Just point them out in a crowd, I just wanna talk, I just wanna tell them something.
Kind regards,
The middle aged woman walking the two half-blind, geriatric lap dogs
I’ve seen a lot of people talking about the contrast of parenting styles of Poseidon saving Percy in episode 4 vs Athena punishing and abandoning Annabeth
But what about the contrast of Poseidon saving Percy vs Zeus pity turning Thalia into a tree after she’s basically at death’s door. Poseidon actively used his power to intervene and save Percy by snatching him out of the air and immersing him in water to heal, while also revealing to him that he has even more powers than he knew before. And this is still in week ONE of Percy’s life as a demigod.
Meanwhile, Thalia knew she what she was, for what I suspect was a while. She didn’t seem to ever have help from her father, and was left to the figurative wolves up until basically the end. And when it looked like moments before the fates were going to cut her string, Zeus (instead of idk striking down the last of the monsters threatening his daughter or ordering one of the other gods to help heal her because he’s their king) turns her into a tree.
Zeus throws his pity on Thalia as almost an afterthought, when almost doesn’t even matter anymore. Meanwhile Poseidon was basically fed up and said imma help my kid because even though I haven’t been allowed to be anywhere near him, let alone acknowledge him, I still love him and don’t want him to die.
…although Athena can go rot bc Annabeth is the best child you’ve had in a good darn while… and you were gonna have her ripped to shreds bc she was in the project group??? Do not pass Go and do not collect $200. Straight to jail with you.

Mental health awareness week. I'm very aware I have a mental illness. My job here is done
I think it is extremely lucky for someone to have loving parents. Parents who actively take interest in their child's life. Who understand and respect privacy. Who do not think of their children as commodities. Who raise their daughters and sons equally. Who realise that providing food/shelter/education is a necessity which doesn't compensate emotional stability. Parents who know how to do parenting. And yet it's the bare minimum.
Am I supposed to be kissing Taylor Swift’s ass or throw her a damn parade for something she should’ve said/done years ago...
I guess kudos to her, but Taylor Swift really did the bare fucking minimum and is getting praised for revealing that she too has basic standards for human rights, after watching our country go to shit and now some policies could affect her. This is peak white feminism.
And that’s just my opinion, I wish she had this energy years ago 🤷🏾♀️
