A/N: THANK YOU CASS for giving me this idea! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY. It’s 7am and I was about to go to sleep but y’all bet your sweet asses that I powered up my computer to write this. ENJOY. Also listen to this, because feels feels feels.
It had been quite an adventurous day for you and Grayson. It had started with you both waking up before the sun was even up, finding Ethan awake and alert in the kitchen - which had made you laugh. You had then decided on ordering some breakfast to go so you could drive to the beach, sitting on the sand while the sky turned orange as the sun peeked from the horizon. It was a peaceful moment, until the boys had decided that swimming in the freezing cold ocean was a good idea; Gray slinging you over your back, ignoring your protests as he rushed toward the sea, Ethan in town.
Then you had helped the guys with filming a new video, which consisted of them just tasing each other and acting like two children. It had made you laugh and you all had to shoot different takes, which took a while.
It wasn’t until midnight when Ethan had left you two alone, yawning like a little lion cub and complaining about being tired. You had shared a secretive smile with Grayson, knowing that he’d just shut himself inside his room and edit until the wee hours of the morning. But you kissed him on the cheek as goodnight, waving as he disappeared down the hallway to his room.
You found yourself in bed a few hours later, naked body hidden thanks to the covers as you laid on your back. Your eyes drifted over to Grayson who was lying right next to you, arm underneath his pillow as he faced you, letting his eyes roam your face.
“What are you looking at?” You asked in a whisper, a smile growing on your face as you turned on your side so you were face to face.
Grayson’s hand crept up, fingers stroking your hand that was lying between the both of you. You turned it around so your palm was facing up, watching as he traced the lines with the tips of his fingers.
“I’m just so content with my life,” he sighed, voice low. You glanced up at him but he was staring at your hands. “I have you here, my brother in the next room, the fans... It all just feels so surreal.”
You smiled softly, loving how humble and stunned he sounded. It was what you admired about him the most; even with him and Ethan rising steadily to fame, he managed to be blown away by the simplest things.
“You deserve it all.” You murmured, raising your hand to grip his, intertwining your fingers. He finally looked up, your eyes locking as a beautiful smile crept up on his face, eyes glittering. His hair was sticking up in every direction, lips slightly abused and swollen, cheeks flushed but he looked happy and satisfied nonetheless. And that was all you wanted, for him to be happy.
He dropped your hand, scooting closer to you, lips coming down to press a chaste kiss to your lips. You eagery responded, pushing up so you could deepen the kiss. It wasn’t long before he was hovering above you completely, hand cupping your cheek as the other touched your waist. But he pulled away far too soon, making you chase after him. Grayson laughed, stroking his rough thumb over your cheek.
“Baby, if we keep going then I’m not sure I will have the strength to stop.” He said with a quiet laugh and you pouted.
“Then don’t.” You brought a hand up to take a hold of his bicep, running your fingers along the outer part. You didn’t miss the shudder that he gave away, biting your lip to hide a smile.
“I’d love to, but I’m not sure I’m ready for another go yet.” He cocked an amused eyebrow and you giggled. “It’s late too, we should sleep.”
“You’re no fun.” You pouted but complied, watching as he pulled back to lay down on his side, elbow on the mattress as he propped his head up on his open palm. You immediately missed the heat of his body.
With a sigh, you proceeded to roll over on your back, the covers slipping down to the small of your back as you wiggled around to make yourself comfortable. You placed your hands on top of each other on the pillow, resting your head over them as you peeked up at Grayson. He was watching you silently, eyes narrowed and a smile playing on his lips as if to say ‘I know what you’re doing’.
“Scratch my back?” You hummed, shooting him an innocent smile. A smile you knew he couldn’t resist.
And you were right, he complied almost instantly; free hand coming up to trace your back, fingers touching every scar and birthmark in a loving way, fingernails scratching every now and then.
He began tracing small figures on your back, and somehow it all turned into a small game of you guessing what he was drawing and writing. It made you laugh, and he loved the sight of you giggling as your laid there on your stomach, hair messy and smile big.
The whole point of the back scratching was to make you fall asleep, but it was doing the complete opposite. You knew that you would regret staying up so late in the morning, but at the moment you couldn’t care less.
“Did you just draw a penis on my back?” You asked, confusion evident on your face as you pulled your eyebrows together.
Grayson giggled, shaking his head. But his smile said otherwise.
“You’re such a child.” You laughed and he shushed you, biting back his own laugh.
“Ethan’s sleeping.” He whispered and you immediately shut up, turning your head to the door as if expecting his twin brother to burst through the door.
But there was no sound coming from the hallway so you resumed to your previous position with a sigh, eyes drooping as you were starting to feel sleepy. Grayson noticed your change in behavior, quickly opting to just scratch your back in circles.
“Aren’t you gonna sleep soon, Gray?” You asked with a yawn.
“Soon. Just guess this one more thing for me.” He murmured lowly and you didn’t know if it was just because of you being sleep deprived, but he sounded nervous for some reason. “Four words. Say them out loud.”
You nodded with a sigh, closing your eyes as you focused on his fingers. It was hard for you to stay awake when his fingers felt so good on your back, giving you soft strokes, but you knew you had to just stay awake and focus on what he was writing. Just to humour him.
“Will..” You murmured and he made a sound of approval, rustling around a bit before continuing.
He traced your back, fingers shaking as they brushed against your skin.
“You...” You sounded tired, voice sounding too loud in the too quiet room.
Grayson murmured out a ‘yeah’, pausing the tracing before continuing.
“Marry... Me.”
Your brain didn’t register it at first, but when the words had caught up with your thoughts, it was like somebody had dumped a bucket of cold ice all over you. Your eyes sprung open, locking with his nervous ones as he stared back at you. With shaking hands, you pushed them underneath you to prop yourself up so you sat back on your knees. Grayson’s eyes fell to your completely exposed body, but they quickly focused on your face. More specifically your eyes that were welling up.
“Did you mean it?” You asked, voice shaking as you searched his face for any kind of sign that it might be a prank or a sick, cruel joke. “Did you?”
Grayson’s lips pulled into a soft smile and he pushed himself up so he was mirroring your position, producing a small velvet box from underneath his pillow. You gasped, hands flying up to your mouth as you watched when he popped it open. A beautiful diamond glared back at you.
“Will you?” He asked, voice soft and vulnerable as he looked at you.
You glanced up at his face, tears rolling down your cheeks as you blinked, a sob escaping your smiling lips. He almost went flying backwards as you flung yourself at him, but he caught you just in time, a gasping laugh escaping his lips.
“Yes, yes, of course I do!” You yelled, not having a care in the world of whom you might be waking up. “I will, I will marry you.”
You pulled back, sniffling as you both laughed at each other. He was tearing up, hands shaking violently as he fished the ring out of the small box. With a giggle, you pushed your hand out, fingers splayed out and it made Grayson laugh.

A/N: We’re nearing the end, my friends. I still have around 1-2 parts to post though so don’t fret. Also, huge thank you for 400 followers. xx Listen to this too, if you wanna.
You were shocked, frozen in your place as he pulled away from the kiss. It had been chaste but it went on for long enough for you to feel it all over your body. You opened your eyes as Grayson pulled away, feeling all kinds of emotions as you stared into his eyes.
You would probably have blushed at the way his relatives in the back were awwing and marveling at how cute you both looked, but you were too busy struggling with your feelings and sorting out the thoughts swirling in your mind.
Grayson looked at you, lips pulling into a smile as he slipped his hand into yours, beckoning for you to take the last step of the staircase. You felt disoriented as you got guided through the hallway to put on your shoes. As you bent down to pull on your boots, you looked around for Ethan but couldn’t find him anywhere.
As you stepped out, you saw him get into the car along with Lisa, Sean, Lily and Cameron. Grayson soon came out of the house, putting a hand on your back to guide you along to his rental car that he had parket up on the driveway.
It was quiet the whole car ride, expect for Timothy and one of Gray’s other uncles, Leonard talking in the back. You tuned them out, trying not to feel confused by the whole situation but you couldn’t help it. You didn’t know what to feel, you didn’t know if that kiss was just for show or if he kissed you because he truly liked you the way you liked him.
You glanced at Grayson who had his eyes on the road, not showing any kind of emotion on his face as he drove and it confused you. So much so, that you started to develop a headache.
The venue was beautiful and you arrived at the same time as everybody else did, everyone changing into fancier shoes and walking into the venue where the wedding reception would be held. You stared in awe, walking slowly as you took in the hundreds of fairy lights hung up on the roof and the tables that each contained the usual cutlery, along with bouquets and nicely folded napkins.
“This is beautiful.” Cameron said as she sidled up beside you, looking like she was in just as much awe as you were.
You smiled, “Simplicity at its best.”
She hummed in response, walking over to the buffet to get her hands on whatever she could find. You watched her with a humored smile, thinking of how funny she looked as he squeezed inbetween the tiny kids to get to the food.
“Cupcake,” You heard a voice behind you and you twirled around, finding Grayson looking at you with a wide smile on his face. “Wanna dance?”
Just then, you noticed the music that had been playing, looking around the venue like you were trying to locate the speakers. Grayson took your hand as you nodded, leading you out on the dancefloor where a few people were already dancing, a few kids trying to dance as slowly as the music was going, failing adorably. You felt Grayson raise your intertwined hands up while sliding his other free hand around your waist. You put yours on his shoulder and looked up at him, trying to figure out what was going through his mind. Was he just as confused as you? Was he just stringing you along? Did he only do this for show? You were, after all, still girlfriend and boyfriend to his family.
Grayson looked at you, eyes roaming your face.
“What?” He asked quietly with a small laugh.
“I’m just a bit confused...” You started and then paused, wondering if you actually wanted to ask him. Then you decided that it was necessary. “That kiss... It’s, it just.. I don’t know.”
Great, you were stuttering. Grayson pulled you closer and you placed your cheek against his shoulder, feeling his cheek rest against the side of your head.
“They bought it, it was great.” He murmured and you stiffened, pulling back slightly to look at him.
At first you thought you’d heard him wrong, that it was just all a sick joke. But the look on his face told you otherwise. The kiss had been all for show. It hadn’t been real like you thought. You suddenly felt disappointment hit you like a wave, feeling foolish that you actually fell for it, that you let yourself believe that it was more than it actually was. You and Grayson would never be anything but friends.
“Y/N?” He asked, confusion all over his face. “What’s wrong?”
Before you had time to respond, you saw dainty, nicely manicured fingers tap his shoulder and you both turned, the owner of the fingers coming into view. She was just as beautiful upclose and every ounce of confidence you had felt an hour ago just flew out the window as you looked at her. Her eyes were almost sparkling, how was that even possible?
“Gray!” She said and you almost recoiled at her sickly sweet tone. “There you are. Look at you, so handsome.”
You loosened your hold on Grayson’s hand, not knowing what to do. She turned to you, flashing you her perfectly white teeth at you.
“And this must be the girlfriend.” She said and you refrained from glaring at her, feeling sick to your stomach as she looked at you like you were dirt stuck under her shoe. “I’m Isabelle, nice to meet you.”
You nodded, feeling your mouth dry up as Grayson looked at you. He looked conflicted, panic showing in his eyes, so you shot her a smile and took her outstretched hand in yours, shaking it.
“Y/N. The girlfriend.” You smiled and she wrinkled her nose discreetly, dropping your hand and putting it on Grayson’s arm.
His eyes shifted over to you, but you were too focused on her hand that was holding his arm to even acknowledge his facial expressions.
“Mind if I borrow your man for a dance?” She asked and before you could answer her, she had pulled him along, further away to the dancefloor.
You watched them go, feeling embarrassed that you were left standing alone. And to make it worse, the song switched to a more intimate one. Boyz II Men. Great, you thought, trying not to roll your eyes.
“So I guess you’re free to dance with me, then?” You heard someone ask behind you and you turned around, looking at Ethan who was staring right back at you. “I promise I won’t step on your feet. Wait, no. I take that back. I promise I will try not to step on your feet.”
You laughed wetly, willing yourself not to blink so you wouldn’t ruin your makeup. Ethan gave you a soft smile, bringing you in close to him with the help of his hands. He wrapped one arm around you, the other taking yours to hold close to his chest. You sniffled, placing your cheek against his chest as he started swaying along to the music playing in the venue.
“My brother is a fool.” Ethan whispered quietly into your hair. You let your eyes weep across the dancefloor, closing them when you caught sight of Grayson’s smile as he swayed along with Isabelle a few feet away.
You sniffled into his chest, feeling him squeeze your hand in response.
“I guess I am, too.” He whispered quietly like he was telling you a secret and you frowned in confusion.
You blinked your eyes open, pulling back slightly to look at him.
“What do you mean?” You asked, not really sure what he was trying to tell you.
Ethan stopped swaying all together, meeting your eyes steadily and you grew worried when you felt the hand he was holding you in, start to sweat.
“Y/N.. I - “
“Ethan, my boy, mind if I cut in?” Sean interrupted him before he could talk any further and you wanted to turn around and scream at him to come back later to ask you. Just so you could hear what Ethan had to say.
Your eyes didn’t leave Ethan’s face as he nodded toward his father, handing you over with a gentle smile. He walked off to the side and you stopped yourself from frowning in confusion and frustration.
“You look beautiful tonight, darling.” Sean complimented you and you focused your eyes on his smiling face, giving him a shy smile.
“Thank you.” You thanked him, suddenly feeling awkward.
“Grayson is lucky to have you.” He went on and you felt your chin shake, determined not to let your smile slip off at the mention of Grayson.
* * *
The rehearsal went beautifully. After a lot of mingling and dancing, you had sat down and the best men and brides maids had all given their speeches. There had been sniffling and laughter going through the small crowd. And despite everything that had happened earlier, you felt happy just watching Tim and Lola being so head over heels for each other.
Watching them made you wonder if you would ever experience the kind of love they had for each other.
That night, when you all had gotten home safe and soundly, you retreated to your rooms. Everyone was buzzing from the champagne they had had, along with pre-wedding jitters. It was understandable, this whole week had been leading up to the wedding and tomorrow it was happening.
You scratched the back of your neck with your fingers as you walked into the room, feeling drained from being on your heels all day and having so much to think about.
Grayson entered the room a few minutes later, looking conflicted and torn. You frowned as he closed the door behind himself, meeting your eyes.
