Hanging out
Whenever I start a new cosplay, I always have to sketch it out first since it gives me a better understanding of the spatial form of a garment, so here’s my Doll and Maria sketch for my next project, tackling both Doll and Lady Maria at the same time for me and my partner to wear at a con in January
Can you believe I originally thought I was going to make an MLP related custom and NOT give her any short of cutie mark/tattoos? So glad I came to my senses
Guess who got a faceupppp
I honestly was hoping I would do better with it as the head is much bigger than my MSDs but...nope x'D
Still, I am okay with this for now!
Dolly wip, she’s my 2026 avatar doll.
The boys are painted ☺️
Yes I'm using my computer as a background,
I never claimed to be good at this.
Monster High Eyera Doll WIP
Eyera has been a relatively easy custom all things considered.
He started with a bag of eyeball painted ping-pong balls and a thrift store Boo-York Deuce without any arms.
It felt terrible sacrificing Deuce for this, but the glittery skintone on him was definitely not something I could easily find replacement arms for. The photo there is my first prototype head for him, which was a decent first attempt. However the colors are a little too blue for my liking, and I had a really hard time with the neck peg.
I tried cutting with an Exacto knife, and that mostly cracked it. Then I thought I could potentially melt a small hole with a match. Don't do this. This was very stupid. It made a hole that was way bigger than needed.
Attempt #2
Attempt #2 went,, fairly well. Still not perfect but I'm not super sure what to do to fix it.
I used an otherwise faulty soldering iron to melt a hole in the ball. I also tried making a custom neck peg with some miliput but it still didn't hold super well, so for now I've just shoved it onto the neck itself. If any of you have any ideas about how to make it stable, please please let me know.
The body itself was painted using SlyphicStudios tutorial on YouTube. It's so well done and works amazingly.
My brush strokes are still visible but worlds better than they have been with some of my previous body recolors.
That brings me to now! I've thrown some pants on him but I'll probably give him a simple black pants black shirt combo. I love his casual look but I do not think that my sewing skills are anywhere near that level yet.
So he'll probably get his movie look.
Here's my very first face repaint. She's not done yet, maybe 80% at this point, and her hair is me nuts - I'm almost done rerooting though.
She's made on the base of Ginger Breadhouse from EAH, and I'm not sure yet if this is a new character or a Ginger reimagining, because I'm still making a Pastry Princess doll :D
Also I promise she's not that blurry irl, I couldn't take a good pic for the life of me and waiting until daylight was impossible. I need to define her eyes even more I think
