For years, I've been working to ensure a legacy. In 2007, I graduated high school with no purpose or direction. I only knew one thing: I had a gift of directing all of my energy and passion to one particular thing and chase it for success to my ultimate demise. One thing everyone around me told me that I had a particular penchant for creating. Being a fan of music and creating visual arts with my imagination since before I could remember, I knew what I would apply that gift to. And I adapted the persona of a producer of music and performing arts in HipHop. I went through so many names since 2000: (In order) Cujo, K-9, Infamis Da Lyricist, Cypha K. Domino, Don J, Radio McFly, and finally, the one you might know me as, Hassani Kwess. While I carried different alias', I settled with the latter because I was him the whole time. Hassani Kwess. I've achieved so much since then as I honed my ability to create in a unique way. First, my project "D.R.E.A.M. (Dreams Rule Everything Around Me) the Mixtape", "The Mixtapes Day Off", "Cross Into Black: The EP", "TRON" (my first project fully produced, recorded and arranged by me), "Ruthless" (my absolute favorite and most acclaimed and recognized project), and "From The Kradle to the Gates...". Throughout my lengthy career as Hassani Kwess, I've worked with and toured with platinum artists and got to meet and made the debut album of my idol at the time. Traveled accross the US in demand of what I do. But something wasn't right. I think I know what that was now. I was Hassani Kwess, but found out I was just me. I figured I owed that to those that have supported since day one. This is something big for me as I move into a different direction. Being just me. I have made the choice to change my stage name to my birth name: Donavan Day. I'm still Hassani Kwess, just optimized. I have more confidence than ever at this moment and its time. Things to expect from me from hence forth: The release of my high-production music video to the as of yet unreleased song "Stranded On Deaf Row" dir. Perry. Street mixtape "Applied Pressure Vol. 1".
