Imperfect Digivolution Tree: Dondokomon

Dondokomon is another Xros Wars era digimon, they are based on a drum and are typically a bit of a non-combatant not being part of most major fusions and preferring to stay back and inspiring and buffing allies with it's drumming

There are not a lot of digimon based on musical instruments so these evolutions are going to be a bit of a stretch

I have a suspicion that waiting a couple weeks to make this might have resulted in different choices than what I will pick today but I'm moving ahead with it anyway.

as per usual Xros Wars era digimon get 5 champions and the 6th spot will be for DigiXros

Gekomon

the original musical digimon both dondokomon and gekomon share the fact that their music could be considered disruptive or unwelcome in the wrong setting tho gekomons is typically flat out bad, eh even a talented gekomons probably not be appreciated as an upstairs neighbor.

Gawappamon

better representing the fun loving side of dondokomon and advancing technologically to expand its musical repertoire with cd's and dj skills.

say why are half of the musical digimon water based, hmm must be a pun or coincidence

I personally would also classify both dondokomon and gawappamon broadly as puppet digimon rather than a cyborg and the lone musical instrument species digimon in the series, after all its already been established costumes, toys, and stuffed animals fall into the category so it's not a stretch.

Woodmon

drums including dodokomon are often made of wood and dondokomon does sort of have that same jack-o-lantern face so i think woodmon and by extension pumpkinmon as an ultimate make for a fun digivolution line.

Trailmon- Kettle

music as a broad theme is alright but dondokomon is a percussion instrument what kind of digimon represents the bangs and crashes of a drum? what about the loud rhythmic clickety-clack of a train on the tracks, I think thats a pretty good answer

This is also the first pick that truly continues the sentient object theme as well.

I picked Kettle specifically because some of the colors matched ex: the red of the headband matching the top part of the trailmon and dondokomons orange body matching the base.

using the digi-egg of sincerity an already pretty sincere little guy becomes a... cactus ghost
