it’s time to continue our wonderful Don Giovanni Week, here at Musica in Extenso. As you know, we have a special series dedicated to the music of Mozart, entitled M is for Mozart. In every year we present different works from the creation of the austriac composer, so we decided that this year we will focus on the story of the famous character, Don Giovanni/Don Juan.
Today I will present you the finale of the opera, that ends with the death of Don Giovanni. The seducer is finding himself in a very dramatic ending, that Mozart was written for men’s chorus. I need to mention, that exists a second finale for the opera, that features the happiness of the other characters after Don Giovanni’s death. The directors often cuts this finale, to keep the tension and to make a definitly dramatic ending of the opera.

DON GIOVANNI
LUGGAGE have dropped the lumbering “THREE” upon us in the run-up to their forthcoming LP of the same name.
The Chicago based three piece: Michael Vallera (guitar/vocals), Michael John Grant (bass), and Luca Cimarusti (drums) create molasses like movements filtered through a minimalist rock template. “Three” follows this structure to a tee, as six strings drone over an air tight rhythm section, while Vallera follows the lead of his guitar with even dronier mutterings.
Luggage’s latest is heavy, yet sparse, and brings facets of shoegaze and post-punk into their bleak slow-core arrangements. If you went through the entire 6 minutes of “Three” without slowly head-bobbing/banging or looking down at your shoes, then well, you’re a better person than I......
