We had an AMAYZING time backstage this show! This was my fav crew ever!!
(I am the red head with the headset!)
Tech week drama is so funny to me.
The actors have breakups, one actor is a creep and stalking everyone and two people are refusing to talk even on stage.
The crew is convinced a malevolent ghost is after them, two people dyed part of the floor purple and we’re trying to use the staple gun when tape is fine.
And everyone is mad at the director for not comunicating.
Yes, I did enjoy season 1 of hsmtmts but every time I think of the technical disaster that is their show in the final episode I become absolutely LIVID. Putting Big Red, the kid who's NEVER done tech before in charge of lights, sound, AND followspot all at once, all vital factors of a production, without giving him the proper equipment training??? The STAGE MANAGER essentially being absent?? SWITCHING ACTORS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GODDAMN SHOW??? Yes I understand it was for story purposes but if I was in that crew I'd be so fucking frustrated and stressed... please give us better tech representation PLEASE
my aesthetic? taking cryptic photos of people during musical/play season.
Some of the strangest things I’ve heard from actors:
“Do my nipples look okay?”
“Lesbians... can’t use scissors?”
“When I finally jump off the fifth floor of this building it’ll be because of you three specifically making fun of my nipples every day”
“You can’t say thy negligence! You’re white!”
“Let’s. Eat. Nuts.”
“Take my tongue”
Most of these were said to me.
Im gonna miss these hooligans.
Theater rule #5
Never tell an actor or anyone who’s working on a play good luck! It’s an old theater curse! If you want to wish them luck then say break a leg! They’ll appreciate it!
Gotta early valentine for our show. Little bit of fun with these false prosceniums!! Chicago High School Edition!! Tech week coming up in a week and then open night🎭
