Dora Hall - "Did He Call Today, Mama?" 

After Yo La Tengo's in-studo at KEXP this afternoon (PST), Ira Kaplan took control of the board -- which he often does for WFMU. Ira likes to go record shopping on the road and picked up Dora Hall's 45 for the tri-colored "rainbeau" on the label. Fact: "Did He Call Today, Mama?" was written by a young Randy Newman. The organ makes me want to go to a baseball game like at Dodger Stadium where there's a live organ player, and where you can also hear Newman's "I Love LA" at the end of a game.
