I Am Nobody: The Showdown Between Yin & Yang opens with a 8.2 rating on Douban. (= Chinese IMDb, basically, except it lets you rate all the media, not just movies and TV shows.)

(Just in case you were wondering: that's a crazy high rating for a drama, especially for a comic adaptation. Most dramas that are considered masterpieces never even come close to that.)

Just published a new novel on Douban Read.

If you have been following my atypical experience with Chinese web publishing, I finished serializing my previous novel earlier this month, which I actually finished writing back in 2021.

So what have I been doing since 2021? Writing other stuff.

And this is one of them.

"The Curious Casebook of Huo Zhongxia" is a temporary English title. But it's basically a fem!Sherlock Holmes story set in Tang Dynasty's mighty capital city of Chang'an during the mid-7th century. Next to our heroine lived an army doctor who recently came back from war. So expect a lot of Easter eggs! There will be murders and crimes and a lot of Tang Dynasty celebrities making cameos throughout!

A team on Douban (a Chinese social network site) asked users to vote on which series filmed in 2020 was most likely to flop. Word of Honor was the winner. Virtually no one thought it would be a success. Then the first episode aired and the series got a rating of 8.2 on Douban — and its rating's now increased to 8.6.
