I love creepy horrifying murderous Will so much and I also love the idea of Montresor finding out and being scared out of his mind. Flip the script on that cowboy and terrify him half to death

RIGHT?? I especially love that Will’s specific kind of body horror makes him involves a kind of resurrection, and how that plays into Monty’s religious trauma in a kind of Jesus parallel?? I might be overworking the metaphor here but I feel like there’s also potential in “he died for your sins” — Monty would probably never be able to love Will in a way that is healthy, but Will doesn’t care because his devotion is unconditional. He’ll take all of Monty’s worst parts and love him even more. He’ll always be there, no matter how many times Monty betrays him, ignores him, etc.

so. we remember the panel with Will's Spectre in front of a statue with wings, making him look like an angel, right?

do we also remember the panels where the stag made him into a kebab?

Angels are associated with 'saviors', this is something I've seen in media, mainly due to the fact that most people also associate them with Jesus.

When the stag attacked Will, one of the places where its antlers pierced through was his hand.

Jesus, on most crosses, had a nail pinning him to the wood in his palm. Will's hand injury was on his palm. Do you see it.

He's also close to the guy that has religious trauma?? Like when Ada saw Montesor's fear, it was being in the church with the cult. The episode also has "Our Father" in the background when a demon (presumably Belial) crawls out of his mouth and kills the cultists. And Montresor is also seen as a demon, both in life and probably death. Almost everyone HATES him in Nevermore, he reflects the antagonists of most of their backstories. While he was living, he was literally called a demon.

We have Will, portrayed as a savior, and Montresor, portrayed as a demon, or a sinner.

Will paralleling Jesus, who died for sinners.

Will might fucking die for Montresor.
