Okay so. That scene where Ada gives Montresor a vision. The worst fear vision. The ones she gives people with her specter because that’s what it does.

There’s demon looking thing that climbs out of his mouth.

And then it starts attacking people. People that were hurting Montresor. It was a thing that was inside him that comes out and starts attacking people to protect him.

And then it turns out his body was lashing out and attacking Will. His body was doing what the demon thing was doing. When it took over the situation to protect Monty.
