🎹 the worst roleplay trend i ever saw
MY EXPERIENCE IN THE ROLEPLAYING COMMUNITY
i love how i got this ask twice because the people know i'm a HATER
i feel like not answering with something from the pokemon rpc is a cop out so one trend i kinda dislike is that after usum introduced rainbow rocket the pokemon multiverse ended up being used far more often as a plot advice which by itself is pretty awesome although i HATE rainbow rocket but also the multiverse as a plot device ends up being used pretty often as a way to shut down pre-established interactions that happen in canon and makes it pretty hard to write stuff based off canon events with other muses which is like
fiiiiiiiiine it's kind of annoying when you want to do a pre-established dynamic and end up having to jump through hoops of multiverse stuff to effectively end up writing as if the two characters are total strangers anyway but it's not really the end of the world
what i really dislike about the rainbowrocketfication is that a lot of the time it just gets used to write villain aus where every non-villain character loses all agency and is basically only there to be a punching bag which is such a boring way to write a villain like trying to write kalos content in 2023 was an Experience because it felt like there were 20 lysandre blogs going around and 15 of them stopped just short of stating in the rules something like if you interact with this blog you agree to let me win everything and use your muses to aurafarm whenever i want and even now when i see lysandre content i'm honestly a little sick of it
like there's SO MUCH that can be done with bad end aus that it kinda sucks to see it mostly being used as an excuse to godmode
💬 Any of the Mons know Will's favourite food? Why?
Send 💬 and a question and my muse’s Pokemon will answer it! : Accepting!
'Sweets, especially doughnuts. It's comforting food that he has loved since childhood.' Salads could never.
"Would you like to try The Sludge?"
She's holding out a mug of something noxiously pastel pink with the texture of very wet sand. It smells faintly chemically..
"You'll either not sleep for three weeks or idk... It's pretty drinkable."
@eranthiss heard there was competition in the fucked up drinks industry.
"Are you intending to impose on a market that's already been monopolised?" He does, however, take the drink.
"What's in it?"
He has no intention of drinking it without studying it first, but... if there's anything in it that could be added to improve his own fucked-up drink, he was going to find out.
🧡: What is a popular (serious) theory you disagree with?

The next motherfucker that says that Giratina is Satan is going to come to my office to get smacked. Tell me that you're Christian-pilled without telling me that you're Christian-pilled.
Yeah yeah there are some features that have some inspiration on fallen angels or whatever, but the entire Sinnoh Myth is closer to Shinto/Ainu myth than ANYTHING related to the Abrahamic religions.
Aside: Giratina being some god of death or something like that is also wild, doubly so considering that NO ONE KNEW WHAT GIRATINA WAS / IS. Like, homie was straight up gone from history books and everything. The Diamond and Pearl clans had no idea what Giraitna was, and Volo only confirmed what it was through.... ending up in the Distortion World somehow.
Leave my beanie dragon baby alone!
💖: What is your biggest unpopular opinion about the series?
Ask game: unpopular opinion edition <3
99% of the Pokémon but if it was a MATURE series made for ADULTS content FUCKING SUCKSSSSSSSSS
because the thing is there's a difference between exploring mature themes in pokemon (of which there are plenty in the canon games already, oras discusses unemployment housing crises natural disasters sustainable energy gentrification workplace abuse and more and that's just in the optional areas) and basically trying to turn the franchise into mcu slop that's like BIG VIOLENCE BIG DEATH POKEMON ARE WAR WEAPONS NO ATTACHMENT NO EMOTION TAXES FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
Once again you can absolutely do mature themes in Pokémon and there's plenty of room in it for canon but I think it's interesting that the idea of grown-up content is sucking the fun and whimsy out of everything and trying to turn this fantasy world with magical creatures into a living hell where no one is happy and every concern of the real world is somehow amplified tenfold to make the experience as miserable as possible for the sake of Deconstruction(tm) and in general if anyone tries to deconstruct a genre they should first know how it works and also have enough love and appreciation for it to actually understand the message
The biggest example of this is Pokemon Reborn which is theeeee fangame that tries to play pointless edge as mature refinement and like the lead writer feels nothing but contempt for the actual series and it shows
In general the series is about the bond between humans and Pokémon and anything that tries to turn Pokémon into extensions of their trainers with no personality and identity of their own is trite and devoid of substance
So my notes on my Amarys portrayal.
@doublefallen atted bc u were interested!
(theres some trigger warnings for child neglect, etc., so be aware of that.)
ƸӜƷ Calem, what's one thing you hope to achieve in life, if you know?
Send a ƸӜƷ and a question for an answer from my muse as a child.
“Uh, well…”
If asked in front of his parents, he'd probably say that he wants to become the Kalos Champion, but he quite frankly doesn't think it's possible. It's what they say he should aspire to, but they don't seem to have high hopes for him either.
There's so many people that are better than him out there. It'd be presumptuous to even think that he has a chance.
“I think I'd like to meet Miss Diantha. I've seen every single one of her movies!"
