I'm rewatching Criminal Minds Evolution season 16 and I just realized -- that Section Chief Emily Prentiss didn’t have her own office.
Watsonian logic says that she did have an office as Section Chief, and Doylist logic says Criminal Minds didn't have the budget to build and decorate a new office.
On the other hand, there is also strong indications that as Section Chief, Prentiss might not have an office. Maybe she just moves from Unit to Unit wherever she was needed. (ETA).
This makes this whole thing so funny:

So I guess the Criminal Minds-verse FBI really had severe budget cuts during their version of the Pandemic (which I think is similar but not the same as our RL version) if they couldn't even give a Section Chief, that's on the board in the Senior Staff hierarchy next to the Deputy Director, an office..
And why the BAU was getting jammed up and on the verge of dissolving. (Again.)
In our real world, it does seem like the Criminal Minds Evolution show has a... let's say... not as generous a budget as the Original show.
