Me and my obscure Blorbo's nobody cares about /j Anyways my design for Doctor Terrence Thirteen!

Writing and design choices below cut!!

Terrence Thirteen debuted in the early 50's as a Scooby Doo-Esque character where he solved mysteries involving people pretending to be supernatural characters like ghosts, wizards, etc.

He was then moved to House Of Mysteries, and then fully moved to a semi-prominent side character during the 70's run of The Phantom Stranger.

Over the year's he's become less and less used as magic and the supernatural have become a far more prominent fixture in the DC universe, so having a hard-core skeptic like Thirteen doesn't fit anymore. His most recent incarnation appearing in the new 52 Phantom Stranger run, where-in he has been completely overhauled to be a conspiracy theorist type character rather than kinda dick-ish skeptic.

His daughter Traci Thirteen actually is a far more prominent character than he is now adays as Traci still finds use in the Teen Titan's and Young Justice comics and even found a space in the DC pride comics.

For my universe I decided to keep Terrence's roots of being a skeptic, and generally kinda unpleasant to be around due to it. He's severely OCD, and autistic and his rigid thinking simply WILL NOT and CANNOT make him accept magic and the supernatural as real things.

This comes in direct conflict with his daughter Traci, who IS magic. And though he tries his best to support her, his rigid thinking has forced him to kind of accept her magic in only extremely round-about ways such as rationalizing it as a meta-gene instead...which it is not. Visually I base him a bit off Jeffrey Combs from Re-Animator.

but also, some bits of Harlan Ellision's 70s interview outfits and vibes.

I imagine he acts VERY MUCH like Harlan Ellision, being eloquent and verbose and also a major prick who thinks he knows better than everyone else.
