I actually find it pretty disturbing that the Sw*mp Thing and Abby both constantly act like they’re the victims of John Constantine’s manipulativeness and treat him like he’s an untrustworthy bad guy given that, in the comics, they both raped him in order to get Abby pregnant.

And, like, it’s also just really disturbing that the Sw*mp Thing got a permanent tattoo while he was possessing John’s body in order to impregnate his wife, and did it all without John’s consent. And actually thought the whole thing was funny.

John was secretive, manipulative, and made the occasional callous joke while he was trying to save the world? Well, Abby and the Sw*mp Thing raped John, so…guess which I think is worse?

And, oh my god, after his daughter dies, the Sw*mp Thing physically assaults John and blames HIM because he had Nergal’s blood in his veins and it led to Tefe’s death. John is clearly not okay with what happened — “forcing me to roger the Mrs” “I never volunteered for the gig”—yeah, he never consented and they both know it, but…Abby and the Sw*mp Thing don’t give a damn. They never ASKED John if they could use his body to impregnate Abby!!! He never had a chance to tell them about the demon blood! THIS ISN’T HIS FAULT, NOT EVEN REMOTELY. They are literally blaming John for the fact that they raped him and had his child without his consent, which is just disgusting.

I’m glad John got to tell Swamp Thing to fuck off and throw the rape/forced impregnation in Swamp Thing’s face, because Swamp Thing deserved to be told that

(Especially since John has made it very clear that he doesn’t really like children and never wants any of his own and still was forced to have one)
