"What's the point of one of these stupid things, anyway?"

"Eren."

There is an instinctual freeze in his shoulders when you speak his name like he's the final chore on your to-do list, but an eventual sly grin forms on his face. Green eyes find yours as he shakes the notebook like a pair of keys.

"I know that voice." Nothing about his tone is innocent. "You say my name like that when you've got something to hide."

"What, you think I write about you?"

"I'm not the one who said it," he states, "but I sure hope you do."

Muted Serendipity Drabble

3. Journal

Isaac didn’t mean to snoop, but his curiosity urged him to read the unknown tome in the library. When he opened the book, he realized it was not a textbook, but a journal. Dawn’s journal. He should have closed it, left it alone. But to finally have a means to understand this strange woman? He simply couldn't pass this opportunity up. He turned to a random page and began to read. “I feel torn to choose between my two worlds. The world I’m from, and the world I’m in now. I have yearned to go home, but at what cost?”

Oak Ranch Pokemon Behaviour Observation Journal, YYYY/MM/DD

The pokemon registered under trainer Ash Ketchum continue to be a source of mayhem. Today, his Torkoal jumped into the pond after his Krookadile's sunglasses. The glasses had already been retrieved by a water type in the area, and Torkoal had to be rescued. His Gibble has been making efforts towards terraforming another part of the forests, much to the displeasure of the pokemon living there, and myltiple fights have had to be broken up (note: call Ash to request assistiance with corralling his Gibble).

Otherwise, nothing significant to report today.

Day 3: Journal

November 2025 Drabble Challenge

Character: Leto | Player Character

Rating: Gen

The moon hangs full and bright and lonely in the sky. Its light chases away the stars.

Chases away sleep, too. Leto sits up on their pallet. Their eyes briefly meet Cassius' across the attic. He prays quietly.

Leto reaches for their journal. They can't write, but they can take notes. Sketches sharpen their memory.

They survey their map, halting at the tunnel to Gale Rocks. The traps are sprung, the undead scattered. Only the heavy doors, too heavy after the fight, remain closed. 

Leto's bruises ache. Tonight, they rest. Tomorrow they will open the gate. Another road made safe.

Former US Army Ranger, Sgt 1st Class, Sniper before anomaly to the Starfield Word Count: 100 Warnings: None. Themes of jealousy, insecurity. Summary: Our Captain has lingering doubts about the seriousness of her co-pilot's feelings for her. And concerns about the importance of his ex-wife in his esteem, versus her own. He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not?

Captain’s Journal:

I sometimes feel I’m not sure about Sam. I mean, I’m pretty sure I love him. Or, I want to love him, but I sometimes get the feeling it isn’t quite reciprocated. Sure, he’s into our whole relationship thing as it’s developing. I know he loves how me and Cora get on.

But he never has said the words. And he’s always talking about Lillian. When she did a thing in the line of duty it was cool; when I do a thing, I’m wrong. What does he even like about me anyway? Maybe I’ve made a mistake.

Day 3: Journal - @thedrabblecollective

This, as well as all of the other drabbles I’ll be doing for this challenge, are meant to be (out of order) parts of a novel I’m working on, so they probably won’t make much sense on their own.

She did not know why the journal, small and unobtrusive yet teeming with secrets, had come into her possession, nor whether she was prepared to open it. Somehow, the letters had felt different; After all, Elm and Victor had written them with the intention that someone else would see them; Whether Cedar was the intended recipient was neither here nor there. But to peek into Elm’s own mind, into thoughts reserved only for herself and the felled, processed tree she had trusted with them, was a level of intrusion that she was not sure she was prepared to descend to.

Alto kept a journal since they came to Heil. Each evening, he recorded the day's events. He wanted to keep track of time during Liselotte's exile, counting the days until they could go back to the manor. After a while, it had become proof of their efforts to make their new house a home.

October 15th: Anna taught Dame Liselotte how to make pancakes. October 16th: Engetsu fixed the broken wicker baskets. October 17th: We all went apple-picking. October 18th: Engetsu accepted to try Dame Liselotte's apple pancakes.

If it also became evidence of other things, it was by accident.
