a while back you made a post about knowing more people with brain damage...just recently confirmed that one of my autoimmune diseases (PANDAS) has been left untreated for so long that it's become neurodegenerative and causing likely irreversible brain damage. I'm not surprised but relate to the whole "now that i can see it in the imaging I've done it is a different kind of real"

6. what's something good that's come out of being disabled?

fuck man i dunno. for as much as I wouldn't get rid of them even if I could, it's hard for me to see much good in them esp bc any supposed "good" i can think of is easily balanced or overrun by other things that are neutral to exhausting. Mania can be nice, but it can also be the cause of financial stress and worry. And other than that nothing's come readily to mind, but that might just be bc I've been very tired for weeks

8. does your disability affect how you experience other parts of your identity? (gender, queerness, culture, even hobbies/life goals you're very passionate about)

for as much as i identify as disabled before even identifying as queer despite being knowingly queer far longer, I don't actually think it does? Well, if we're talking purely physical. My dissociative disorder is def the reason for my it/its but that's more how I experience the world, not how I define myself in it, yk?

I have been, these last couple years or so, slowly trying to immerse myself in more and more disability culture because it does wonders for my self-acceptance and reminding myself to not carry the same prejudices taught to me growing up. But even that, I don't think, has really effected anything I consider my identity? Like there's an argument with kinning and my suspected OSDD but even then I'd not relate my whole kin list to it, just the Strongest Kins.

10. whats something youve come up with or integrated into your life that makes disability easier, besides typical aids?

for the life of me I've been thinking on this and I don't th- well. I don't think I have any that count unless you count using an empty cat litter pail as a shower seat. but that's more about being broke than anything bc shower seats exist. Otherwise mostly I just use aids or nothing.

I understand Thren is a canon character in Dragon Age but as he got like, 2 chapters and the death he is mine now and he is literally feral half the time and I love that for him

Roelle is like. Literally created half to manic pixie dream girl Chlodebaimt 'cept they're not a girl and it's not pretty and they get Aggressive when they gotta.

doing these for Chlodebaimt bc fuck it he's on the mind and he's basically an OC since canon gives us like three (3) facts about him

1. What lie does you character say the most?

hmmmm. This is hard because like. There's the easy answer of like. He spent like 7 years assuming a false identity to run away from home. Or the other easy answer of the many lies he repeated to himself and Roelle while they dragged him tooth and nail into recovery. But I think the interesting answer is the one after both of those. But he doesn't verbally lie as much anymore. only counting verbal his most common one is probably "I don't need my cane" (which no one believes) but otherwise it's just. Pretending to be fine when he absolutely isn't and he doesn't have to keep it in. it's a learned trait and he still doesn't like needing to lean on anyone anyway. Luckily, he can't maintain this one for too terribly long anymore bc healing made him tired and he has a partner and a wife who will both lovingly lecture him about it every time.

23. What do they feel guilty for that the other person(s) doesn’t / don’t even remember?

I don't know if he has any! the guilts he has now are uuuhhhhh kinda major and drowned out trivial things like that. the guilt he carries that he feels is the pettiest is how much he hated his two older brothers growing up but like. Steph and Aurvael are both "no yeah we deserved it don't apologize what the fuck" about it. but I think that weighs heavy on him because it stuck with him while he was away the way childhood grudges do and then like. They had stopped being shitty years before Chlode disappeared but Steph intentionally coming to take him home personally knowing Chlode would very well hate him more for it kind of makes him really confront that like. Sure they were shitty older brothers as kids. But they grew the fuck up and left him alone except for when their paths naturally crossed out of respect. He feels petty and carries the guilt bc they don't think he has anything to be forgiven.

52 Do they act on their immediate emotions, or do they wait for the facts before acting?

Depends on the emotion. Is it anger? Then it's immediate. Anything else? He's inclined to wait for the facts unless there's some personal panic (i.e. danger to a loved one) and/or some reason he can't get enough information in time. I wouldn't call him level-headed, he definitely got some significant Emotional Dysregulation going on, but he's also very facts based. And like. He rand a Vigil at age 20. that is a very significant and important thing he did. He's got to be able to remain patient and logical under pressure for that.
