This one is technically a remake of an older piece that I made about this creature that roams around the open plains and deserts of Klagut and Pyrkos, but updated it to kind of meet newer standards as I was finally getting to do some fauna additions starting with Drachor's dominant animal lifeforms of paramammals or "dragons" (as this is a seedworld by concept - also dicynodont descendants.)
Basically they are vicious terror birds in concept but loosely look like wyverns and are a nightmare amongst ghouls who witness it. I've also decided because why not to also attach the original thing that got changed in the diagram above.
A lot of the names are meant to be phonetic in nature - that's kind of how I come up with names of Nari characters generally
Please note (as a content warning) that the image below contains some blood, though it may not be obvious as it is darkened.
The image below was posted on 29th October 2024 (a double-whammy)
A repost from what I did for my own version of Spectember 2025, originally I completed it on 23rd September 2025 and posted it elsewhere.
It is a giant whale alright, but since I realised that its gonna be autosized to 2048px, it should be easy to read if you do read it close, I'm very hesitant at times to actually bother writing down things so XD
First actual new post to this blog that's not a repost and also the final piece for Spectember 2025... at the tail end of what I planned. For the text below, I just copied text from DeviantArt because I don't want to paraphrase it again for my actual thoughts.
To summarise, the lungids are just pterosaurs with either fluff (similar to picnofibers) or feathers for more specialised ones that evolved from that proto-fluff. They may as well be seen as "wyverns". Specifically, the amu are basically living anurognathids but in name. There are a myriad of species in there, not all of them have their light shone because of limitations.
I have decided that the Spectember 2025 challenge for me would end in 10 entries, but because of my mental state and reluctance to keep working on worldbuilding stuff sometimes and October is coming up, I'm most likely going to be taking my own time to finishing up the last three of the scheduled entries at some point in time - I just hope it doesn't compound all of the queued up projects that I have in mind.
The next and last three would be the gattakangeli ("skywyrm"), snognar (ogres; basically Drachor's ground sloths) and then the gelhor (or qilin/kirin). But that would be all since my mental capacity is now focused on finally venting out what I've been waiting to draw for a while now: ghouls specifically. I might get around to cultural stuff... but alas, I might be too lazy for that too XD
I do plan to get around trying to do a much more complex scene and typical settlements built by ghoulkind going (as well as finally getting my long-awaited scene coming along that has been in my head since July), but my mind is just... a bit too distant at the moment to figure things out.
Posted on 8th October 2025, but completed it yesterday (as of this writing)
Leftover Spectember 2025 ideas that I haven't finished in time in September. I hope to slowly finish this over the weeks whenever I have time available in my disposal - this one took a while for me to finish because of its ambitious push that I have.
The skywyrms inspired some of the modern Naric draconians' headcrest and wyvern-styled wing designs that are shown in their kind, one way or the other.
Originally posted on 8th September 2025 for a personal Spectember theme surrounding some species of animals throughout Drachor.
These small critters are known as lesser dracocerebrines (microcerebrines), rodent equivalents in Drachor, the homeworld of the Nari, which also happens to be a "historic" seedworld where Permian animals got introduced by the so-called Orion Arm Founders for research. These would be the descendants - as are all animal life in Drachor.
Other than that, I’ve completed my overdue obligations to getting the rest of what was supposed to be Spectember 2025’s last three species of fauna that I wanted to get it done to demonstrate and expand on the wildlife of Drachor in-depth and well, consolidate any information that comes out of these animals so that I don’t have to rely more on having imaginary creatures thought up on the fly - i.e. “familiars” that appear in older canon of the Nari (when they were not draconified yet) - and potentially translate that into something, I don’t know yet, but it at least gives me something to throw at if I ever do another wildlife scene.
I still believe that there needs to be more animals or organisms to be explored in Drachor. But because I have so many obligations in my head and that being the end of the year specifically, I don’t want to put a lot of burden on myself to work on more species at the moment. It's kind of the reason why I procrastinated for so long specifically about getting this done - alongside the gattakangel (skywyrm).
This would be the second project that I have finally done. All the information is on the image itself, because well, I don’t want to be anchored to rewriting or paraphrasing too much information. One major difference or retcon that I have made with the exonym name for the gelhor would be changing it from “qilin” to “shadhavar”. For some reason, I decided to settle on that “carnivorous unicorn” name over having some sort of functional name, even though that would be yet another misnomer made by humans. I kept the old name for the family and genus specifically.
Overall, I am happy that one of the species of Drachor that I have outlined in the original phylogenetic tree had been fleshed out in some way, even if I did some minor changes along the way. Next year, I may try to explore more of the animals on Drachor (they technically are animals since they are descendants from Earth’s lifeforms as a seedworld in specevo terminology) - but do not get too much hope, I’m kind of already stuck on a bad content schedule, so… yeah.
A repost from 20th September 2025 which is for Spectember 2025 that I failed to finish most of my planned works in time. (I'm still working on the last three in my own time.)
Basically a large cross between a polar bear and a capybara, with dicynodont characteristics because that is where Drachor's lifeforms or the "draconic" organisms largely descend from.
