You have Aegon I who killed them all, and then you have Aegon II protecting the last one. What a change in history. While Dracula is extremely powerful, the thought of Aegon protecting them is thrilling. Aemond and Rhaenyra too.
Imagine if Aegon I killed off Dracula's people because they refused to marry him and join their families. Dracula didn't like a conqueror
Okay okay I'm literally making an entire OC based of this and so I imagine that Alucard (the oc yes I'm creative) was very young when he was turned, probably at the beginning of the conquest.
The vampire species is native to Westeros like the Children of the Forest and have been around for eons. They have a clan for each major house in Westeros, controlling the politics from the sidelines. But when Aegon I arrives and starts to take over the continent, the clans try and fight back.
Valyrian steel is the only thing that can pierce a vampires skin. So Aegon starts culling their entire species, killing any vampire that refuses to bend the knee.
Alucard was turned just a few years after Aegon arrived in Westeros. He was immediately thrown into war and was not taught how to properly turn another person or the history of his species.
Soon Alucard is the only vampire left, and when Visenya holds her sword to his neck ready to kill him, he breaks. Begging for his life, and saying he'll do the Targaryens bidding if they spare him.
Alucard plans to take the family out from the inside but over the years he grows attached. Starting to become protective of Aegon and his wives children.
He would try and find as much information about his species as he can. Wanting to know how and why he came to be. He's so tired of watching the ones he loves age and die around him. He wants to fix that, but the vampires were very secretive about their culture and didn't write much down.
Alucard is at a loss, and soon gives up. Swearing that if he can't make the Targaryens immortal that he will protect them for generations to come.
I also imagine that these vampires turn to stone if they get too much sun exposure. They're always wearing long sleeves, cloaks, and bronze masks during sunny days. They can get away with less covering up on cloudy days however.
If the sun touches their skin, they burn. It will heal slowly but at least it heals. If they are in the sun for too long the burns will spread and start to turn to stone until their whole body is consumed.
They have slightly pointed ears, and faint fangs. But when they get hungry their fangs elongate, and their eyes turn completely black.
They have to feed at least once a week, and animal blood does not suffice. If they don't eat they will wither away, and their limbs start to turn into a white powder, slowly consuming their body the longer they go without a meal.
They can't cry, and will only be able to do so once in their life, when they do cry once, it's blood.
