“Jane, you’re an astrophysicist, not a storm chaser,” said Erik Selvig, and he was wrong. She was just an astrophysicist too.

Send me a fic rec or a mood, and I’ll send you a fic rec, too!
dragonsbones replied to your photo: Okay, so far the Spikemouth gym is the biggest...
because its in the slums, its supposed to be more like oldschool pokemon but also they’re just people who like pokemon and battling, they don’t have a dynamax spot or w/e so they dont get the funding that other gyms do. but they love what they do and they’re proud of it, I think is the point.
I think you missed the point of my critique; I like the style of the city, and the “gym”, and the fact that they are rebels who don’t do the dynamax thing. I was criticising the linear style of the challenge. In previous gyms we were herding wooloos, solving simple logic puzzles, being interrogated about old lady’s favourite colour what the fu- but here we just.... walk.
I mean... make it a labyrinth, at the very least. That would accentuate the slums, dark atmosphere.
I'm not even a fandom blog but yours was my favorite to follow. We have compatible sins and I'm going to miss you after the Great Tumblr Cleanse.
Awww, how sweet. as I said, I’m not going away on my own, and I produce NSFW stories, which are excluded from the purge, but I reblog a lot of stuff, so I don’t know. They won;t take me alive, that’s what I’m saying.
One of my favorite fanfic writers has the same birthday as me, omg. Happy birthday! If you're still accepting prompts, maybe a cute fluffy prompt with Yumalia?
I was not prepared for how much this meme would make me think. I thought I was. I wrong. It also makes me wanna go off on a tangent which I think is related but I’ll stay on topic. Ahem!
Question Meme Here!
I have two ‘verse - this meme will focus on Calamatology, the more canon-following one in which I have three Warriors of Light (henceforth referred to by the title ‘Luminary’) - I’ll talk about Suzune Akigawa, my played character and Adelgrim Stormwrath (who lives solely in my head for now) They have companions who are just as capable but less famous (and less fleshed out). I am very verbose and there’s two prompts so under the cut…
Alliance
Does your character have any important relationships with major NPCs? Friendships, romances, rivalries?
Suzune gets along with a lot of people and if she doesn’t, she either ignores their existence or gets to kill them. I’ll focus on the central figures of her life.
Of the Ishgardians, Suzune is closest with Aymeric and Estinien; she and Aymeric despair and gossip about their missing friend. (“He was in the STEPPE, Em. THE Azim STEPPE. ‘Just happened to be in the area’.” “How would he have reached the East so quickly.” “We gave him a manacutter.” “…Ah.”). she frequently would like to beat Estinien over the head and more than once has she tackled him off a roof, the fool thinking she didn’t know he was there. (How dare he underestimate the magical Azure Dragoon bond!) If Aymeric any had romantic feelings, Suzune feigned obliviousness, uncertain how to deal with it and he would never burden her with it but they are good friends and she writes loads of letters about her adventures and occasionally beneveolnelt abducts him on small jaunts. (Amazing what happens when one is not actually the entire government) Also the Parley earned him another lecture on how much Thordan 7th WAS NOT his father.
Her romantic partner is Lord Hien and before she actually met him she didn’t think much of an heir who had to be convinced to come back to free his people but when she did meet him, she came to understand his grief, his pain and his reasons. Suzune first saw a man staring out on to the Steppe and felt a pluck of the Echo, a murmur of his past. And so she sat down next to guy she’d never met and proceeded to tell him all about Doma, give a rousing speech and then fuck off and force him to chase her down in the market all before even introducing herself. She was unbalancing, perplexing and forced him to think on things in a way he hadn’t.
They quickly prove to compliment one another as she poked holes and refined his ideas, enjoying casually competing with each other and he tempers the rage that makes her quick to violence, vengeance and resentment. Upon returning to Yanxia, she ended up paired with him a lot due to his people’s concern and he never felt like she was bodyguarding him. After the Liberation Campaigns, he invited her to a position in Doma’s government, though its less of a formal office and ‘whatever she feels like doing to help’ be it treasure hunting or demon slaying.I … am not actually sure how their romance happens yet, i just know it does. T_T Slow burn? But she does have her own room in the Kienkan
She gets along with the Scions to varying degrees. Y'sthola - the first Scion she met - they talk about fashion and Limsa Lominsa, and Suzune’s crazy idea like forging levinbolts into bows or fire into rapiers. Speaking of magical nonsense, she is surprisingly close to Urianger; though she found his speech downright strange compared to the already odd speech of Eorzeans, there’s a quality to it she likes. Her attempts to confound him with onmyoji versus arcanima however were foiled by his genuine interest. She’s only a little disappointed. Alisaie she bonded with while exploring the Coils and over red magic and fencing. She also doesn’t like Alphinaud; a difference of opinion amongst other things pretty much obliterated his standing with her. She’ll work with him but they’re not friends. Adelgrim is not apart of the Scions; he actually doesn’t like them and only cares about Suzune and Rarasuga (the third member, who isn’t fleshed out yet).
However, he is close with and friendly to Minfilia of the Scions (as like her he also remembers the pre-Calamity Warriors of Light) and doesn’t really like much of anyone else except perhaps Lyse and Moenbryda. He’s also close with the Fortemps family though that’s mostly Edmont and Haurchefant. He has no romantic attachments.
He also has mixed feelings about Raubahn - he feels he doesn’t do enough for Ala Mhigans outside of the Coliseum for instance but his displeasure is tempered by reason (and not to the point of plotting against him and going off the deep end Ilberd). Speaking of Ilberd they use to be sort-of friends but that went pear-shaped and they had a violent confrontation at Baelsar’s Wall, stopped only by Suzune track-shooting Ilberd with Desperado and Ilberd’s subsequent suicide.
Trials
Oh this is hard. T_T never thought about this and now that I do, there’s too many to think about. Bowl of Embers? Whorleater? Steps of Faith? Doma Castle and Ala Mhigo for emotional punch? Coils for Warrior of Light weirdness? Hullbreaker Isle Hard for funsies? I suppose I’ll just talk about the Bowl of Embers
It’s not that Suzune hasn’t face large, terrifying beasts before in her past but that was with a whole group of her clanmates during hunts. She’s by herself! Until Adelgrim barrels in that is. Adelgrim Stormwrath is Ala Mhigan, remembers the legacy Warriors of Light, has the Echo, is generally angry about most things and acts her brother and mentor figure. He had rejected the Scions offer rather venomously and still does but this is the point where he invites himself along for her; how he reacts to some folks sometimes informs hers encouraging her to speak up or kick people out of her life. The Bowl of Embers is notable more in the way it sets the tone for future relationships.
Whorleater is significant again less because of the fight and more of the circumstances surrounding it. Leviathan rises just as the Domans arrive seeking asylum; Suzune hasn’t seen her people in years and is petitioning with the Admiral to grant them asylum, leveraging their farming techniques as something Merlwyb would be interested in (She is), So having a giant sea monster threaten to wash it away was not at all welcome.
