I have recently DRASTICALLY decreased interactions with a toxic person and I've just gotta say... I've read all those posts about removing toxic people from your life and I know that they're true. But I genuinely never thought it would be this freeing.
Almost as soon as the conversation ended, my stress level decreased by like 20%. And it has continued to decrease in spite of an increase of typically-stressful things happening (a test coming up. Homework increasing. Needing to focus both on learning stuff for school and learning stuff for a placement exam. And several other things).
Like... for the first time in months (possibly years), I had enough energy to go out to breakfast and go shopping to 3 different stores with my mom, get a haircut, take a shower, do 2 large homework assignments, practice piano, wash and fold and put away laundry, pick up the trash in my room and straighten my things in my room, AND start a new crafty kind of project (one that I have never tried before).
I honestly didn't even realize how draining that relationship had become. So it feels SO odd to have this much energy to turn to other places. Places that I need to be focusing on. And I know my energy will fluctuate as it always does. But at least a large percentage of it isn't being drained by a toxic relationship.
