Patron is on sale For the third time this month But it's the cheap stuff That burns my tongue For the third time this month I buy I bottle of liquor That burns my tongue When I shoot it straight The liquor Numbs my nerves When I shoot it straight With no chase on nights like these My numbed nerves Don't notice the bumps that will be bruises At the end of nights like these When the alarm clock blares The bruises are reminders Of what happens When the alarm clock blares After patron is on sale.

I don’t know how to do this any other way but uncorked red wine middle shelf any red as long as there’s something to say or even if there’s nothing this is how I want your voice to go down my throat a tickling threat the risk of you against my insides

Drinks. Many drinks. Very drinks. Much drinks. Drinking until I feel better. The anti-social kid at this party.

Bar Rat
I used to knock over crystal glasses with my elbows
spilling a few ounces of whiskey onto the hardwood.
I'd sit there and watch the liquor drip from the table's edge,
sigh heavily, then light a cigarette in frustration.
I didn't care if smoking was prohibited in the building,
but I resented the wasted dollars and disillusionment.
I used to hate how my vices would pool onto the floor
and stream down the trenches in between the panels.
It smelled so strongly and strangers turned in their chairs
a proclamation of inebriation - as if done on purpose.
