I never want to hear people talk shit about mental health medication ever again.
Seriously, I’ve only been on my anti-anxiety meds for two weeks and they’ve been a damn game changer.
I have serious driving anxiety. So much that I have frequent nightmares and can get panic attacks even sitting in the passenger seat of a car in busy traffic.
I haven’t driven in 4 (?) months and I just drove 2 miles with mild traffic. And I feel okay. Not great, not amazing, but I don’t feel like I just got off a damn rollercoaster. I didn’t have to catch my breath because I wasn’t hyperventilating. My limbs weren’t shaking so badly that I couldn’t walk.
I’m 20 years old. I’ve been fighting my driving anxiety for four years. And the right medication managed to help me in two weeks.
I am fucking medicated and mighty- and I dare anyone to try to shame me into giving up this power.
