George had the choice to not have his female characters raped. He is a fantasy writer not a historian. He has no obligation to adhere to fake history. He could have written his story anyway he wanted, but he wanted to have Dany being molested and falling in love with their rapist...aka Drogo x Dany...that was always his choice and has nothing to do with realism.

Daenerys' glorified justification of killing Mirri Maz Duur

I keep seeing a lot of people are saying Mirri Maz Duur was justified in killing Khal Drogo -You're not wrong- and that it was unjustified for Daenerys to burn her. One post even said that Dany was glorified for wanting to hear Mirri Maz Duur scream - which is true.

Khal Drogo was a shitty person, outside of the fact that him and Dany learned to fall in love [side note, in the book Drogo didn't rape Dany (at least the first time they did anything)], Drogo was a shitty person in the fact he raped, enslaved, raided, and destroyed "lamb people" whom he deemed below him.

But Daenerys was JUSTIFIED in killing Mirri Maz Duur -- Not because Mirri killed Drogo (although, that's a decent reason in Dany's mind because she loved him) but because she killed Rhaego.

Are people really forgetting, and forgiving, the fact that Mirri Maz Duur used dark magic to kill Dany's unborn child, Rhaego?? Yeah, Rhaego was prophesized to be the Stallion Who Mounts The World but, he was an unborn child who had done nothing wrong and was killed because Mirri Maz Duur was (rightfully) angry with Drogo and his khalassar.

That is the reason I say Daenerys was completely justified in killing Mirri Maz Duur.
