I took a nap earlier and had a dream that Llewelyn was in a relationship with Drizzt Do’Urden and it has to be the funniest thing I’ve ever dreamt because he HATES that mf. And when they were together he still lowkey hated him.
Overall just a hating ass bitch.
Llewelyn is not really too much of a hater canonically he just wants people to stop asking him about Drizzt.
Anyways in my dream their relationship was unhealthy and they both needed couples counseling I’m gonna be real.
I spent all day today taking pictures of Llewelyn in BG3 because I need more pics of him (and I keep changing his design in slight ways so I like to get pics every time I do).
But I think this pic is my favorite
Something about the angle just kills me. It reminds me of the pathetic cat.
So I finally cracked open my OG Llewelyn BG3 save. And obviously since his inception he has gone through MANY changes. Most of these changes though I’ve done within new save files, (because why not). Meaning that I have basically a little time capsule of what Llewelyn originally looked like (more or less, I made a slight change to him in the very beginning of his creation).
So naturally I just HAD to compare OG Llewelyn and present day Llewelyn.
I want to share this comparison with you guys as well as my process with designing and changing him over the course of 2 years!!
(Warning, his original design was not great).
So what is also very interesting to me about this is I made Llewelyn when I knew nothing about drow. And I mean nothing. So obviously his original look is… interesting. I did not know drow were supposed to be super dark skinned or that they tended to have long hair. So I was very uninhibited by the typical appearance standards of drow. And at the time of making him I was messing around with many different mods so I went a little crazy. Often when I make characters I throw things together and hope they stick then I refine later. Which you can see rings very true here.
Now with present day Llewelyn I didn’t want to change his overall appearance too much. (I’m weird about changing OCs appearance even if I think they look cringe or edgy or whatever). So it took me a lot to make some of the changes I did make to his appearance (dialing back his very heavy makeup, which btw I am still torn about, and getting rid of his face tattoo, which I am less torn about). I wanted to make him look less edgy but still keep some core things the same. (Haircut, scars, piercings). I also made the decision to not only darken his skin tone but to change the actual skin tone itself to ice tone 7. Which took a lot of getting used to because he appeared very blue at first. This decision came because I felt like his skin was always getting washed out because of the lighting in the game. He’s supposed to have cool toned grey skin and his original skin tone (dusk tint 5) was not cutting it.
(An important thing I’d also like to mention is that I’m using a mod that removes the built in character lighting from my characters, a lot of my decisions were made prior to using that mod but honestly the mod just solidifies my decisions even more. So the way he appears in these screenshots is not how he’d appear in a normal game with that lighting).
Over these past few years Llewelyn has gone through many changes not just appearance wise but with his overall character development as well. It’s just very cool to see him in his original state and reminisce over his journey and my own as a blorbo maker and drow lover.
Anyways I hope you all enjoyed my comparison and my yap. There probably was more I could add but I kinda lost my train of thought halfway through the post.
