“Snakes don’t just bite. Come on. What’d you do? Did you kick it.”
“People don’t just blow up things. We must just—not understand Dream. Did you—did you kick him?”
“I lunge once, now you hunt me down. You try and farm my own venom and use it against me. You run me away from my nest.”
“There are some snakes that just bite. Pure evil. But they weren’t always that way. You made them that way by treating them like that’s what they always were.”
“I’m not gonna stop until you put me down. Because I’m no longer protecting my eggs. They’re already gone. They were stolen by the hawks when you chased me away from my nest.”
I was VERY interested in Tommy's conversation with Foolish so I took the liberty of transcribing it, starting from Tommy telling Foolish about L'Manberg
Transcript below + a bit of analysis in the notes
Tommy: You see this? L’Manberg.
Foolish: Oh yeah, I’ve heard this before.
Tommy: This was mine and Wilbur’s na- it was Wilbur’s nation. It was Wilbur’s, which makes it all the more heart-wrenching, right. And he decided that even- and he doesn’t mean this, but even though at the time when we made this, it was to get away from Dream. Because Dream wouldn’t let us do what we wanted to. He told us that we have to live under his big iron fist. But we went “no Dream, that’s not fair.” Is it? Right? You don’t think that’s fair, do you Foolish?
Foolish. No, no. (under) So you were a couple revolutionaries- revolutionists basically.
Tommy (over): People wanna do what they want, so we made this nation, yeah? We made a nation and it was glorious and it was amazing! People challenged it, sure, but we got through it. (sigh) And then to try and con- you really don’t know the story?
Foolish: I mean-
Tommy: And then to try and consolidate our power, we held an election. Now…
Foolish: Oh man, there used to be governments here?
Tommy: Now, the problem with an election is it kinda puts all your life on the line, which can be good if you’re confident but perhaps we were a little overconfident… And because of that Foolish, well we um… we lost… to the hands of JSchlatt. Right here, actually! Right about here is where we lost.
Foolish: Oh.
Tommy: And Schlatt banished us. Now, we were ok w- I was ok when we were banished, I knew that we’d get it back. And we’d talk about it, right. As you said, peace is the option.
Foolish: Mm-hm.
Tommy: But here’s the thing, Foolish… Wilbur didn’t wanna do any more talking. He’d given up with that. Because some people aren’t strong enough. Some people stop talking. You know the phrase “treat others how you want to be treated,” Foolish?
Foolish (over): Yeah! Yeah!
Tommy (under): That’s a really important phrase and people hear it- you hear your teachers say it and you hear it when you’re young- people don’t ever listen to it. Treat others how you want to be treated. Wilbur disregarded that rule. He decided he wanted to be treated poorly so he’d treat everyone else poorly.
Foolish: Why do you think that?
Tommy: (sigh) Honestly, sometimes I don’t know myself. But this block here... (points to TNT) He used this and he blew up L’Manberg and shattered it into a million pieces. Now Wilbur, he was a good man, he is a good man, deep inside him, alright? But he-
Foolish: So you’re saying there’s still redemption for him?
Tommy: Well he’s been a good man deep inside him. But he’s been a bad guy for a very very long time. And I know that there’s still good in him, there’s still good in everyone really, Foolish. Even if they are all arseholes and wankers. But-
Foolish: You believe in second chances?
Tommy: No I don’t. I don’t really believe- I don’t- I- that’s not a thing for me, Foolish, it’s just that… (sigh) I believe everyone’s got a little bit of good in them. And I know that Wilbur had good in him, alright? (sigh) So I won’t-
Foolish: You said “had”?
Tommy: Yeah, he did ‘cause when we made this nation, although now he seems to clai- he claimed to me, Foolish, that the nation we built together… he claimed that it was all just a ruse for power. Now I think Wilbur’s just being a bad guy, alright? And that’s ok, we’re all bad guys. Everyone messes up, it’s- you learn the most from your mistakes.
Foolish: Oh yeah.
Tommy: He’s made so many mistakes. So many that have hurt so many people, but… what this is gonna be about isn’t giving him a second chance, isn’t giving him a third chance, it’s not about chances, Foolish. It’s about making sure you don’t give up on the people you care about. So I know you’re still really new to this server-
Foolish: Yeah.
Tommy: -and I know you’ve built lots of things. So if you ever care about someone, do not give up on them, Foolish. Don’t give up on people, right?
Foolish: You know what, Tommy? I think I had you-
Tommy: ‘Cause that’s how you lose.
Foolish: I think I had you wrong.
Tommy: Oh, I don’t know what that means.
Foolish: Well I just- y’know? You’re a little bit more mature than I thought you would be. I thought you were just a loud, obnoxious, you know what I mean? Do what you want, y’know, couple muggings here and there, but maybe there’s more to you than meets the eye.
Tommy: I still do that, obviously, ‘cause it’s funny and it-
Foolish, laughing: Well then- nah, I understand. Maybe there’s more to you. Maybe there’s more to you, Tommy, than I thought.
Tommy: ...Thanks, I guess. Maybe there’s more to you too.
Foolish: Oh, there’s so much… Do you consider yourself to be the good guy or the bad guy?
Tommy: That really depends who you ask, doesn’t it, y’know? If you ask Dream, he’d say I’m- he’d say I’m his little- I’m his little play- his little toy that he plays with, y’know? It doesn’t… Foolish honestly I used to- I used to consider myself the good guy. Y’know the fucking second in command going round going “yeah let’s do this!” but I’m- recently… these past… (sigh) These past, like, six months or so, Foolish. Everything got so much harder than it was before. Because before it was us fighting the bad guys and it was all so clear, you know? It was all so clear.
Foolish: Yeah-
Tommy: But it’s not been clear for so long, alright? It wasn’t “these are the bad guys, these are the good guys.” Now it’s “he’s doing this, that makes him a bit worse, that makes him-” it all got so fucking complicated, so... I don’t know. It depends who you ask, but…
Foolish: I don’t know, it just all seems strange ‘cause just from, y’know, hearing from others and y’know learning a little bit, it seems like you’ve been the hero, you’ve been… the villain, the conqueror, the savior and even now I still have no idea what you exactly are.
Tommy: That’s up to you to decide, isn’t it? I’m just a… I dunno, these days, Foolish, I’m a little weaker than I used to be. I’m not who I- I’m not who I want to be, but… (sigh)
Foolish: You know, to be honest with you, Tommy? That’s the same case for me as well.
Tommy: Oh, really?
Foolish: Yeah.
Tommy: Here’s the thing, Foolish… Unlike you, I don’t really have a choice. I have to try and be who I want to be. ‘Cause if I don’t… very bad things are gonna happen on this server.
Foolish: Y’know-
Tommy: And I- now. Now Wilbur’s back, Foolish, I can’t… quite frankly, no one can risk that. So I don’t really have a choice. I’ll just keep on mining, I’ll keep on pogchamping…
Foolish OOC: You’re just gonna pog through the pain?
Tommy OOC: I tried to and then Twitch deleted the pog emote.
Transcription of c!Sam and c!Phil's conversation from Awesamdude's 11/2/2022 lore stream
[a very long time ago]
Phil: Sam!
Sam: Oh, Phil, hey, hey, Phil, how are you?
Phil: How’s it going? I got your message.
Sam: You got it? Come here, here, quick, it’s gotta happen soon. Look, I finished it! It’s a massive battery. Look at it! It’s perfect! I built the battery for the villagers, you know, so we can have infinite energy now. Just from this.
Phil: Oh, wow that’s really cool.
Sam: But Phil I think, I think I might’ve figured out something even crazier. I-I… look, I don’t really know how to explain how I got here, but I found a way we can take all of this energy from the lightning and well… Let me just show you, let me just show you, okay? Just stand here… Okay?
Phil: Okay.
Sam: This machine right here…
Phil: What is this?
Sam: It’s, it’s—you’re not even gonna believe me until I show you. I’m gonna go in here and just watch—just watch, okay?
Phil: Okay.
Sam: Okay, you ready?
Phil: Yeah…? Don’t know what I’m ready FOR, but…
Sam: Do you see it?
Phil: See what?
Sam: Yeah, look! Look.
Phil: Sam, what is that?
Sam: It’s a clone! Of my genetic material! I’m able to convert the energy from the lightning into a literal copy of myself! Everything is the same.
Phil: But, why?
Sam: Well, that’s the beauty of it—that’s the beauty of it. Here, take these. If we build these tubes like this and if I just stand in here—just seal me in here, and then press that button.
Phil: Are you sure, uh… what does it do? Sam, what does it do—?
Sam: No, trust me, trust me, it’s okay, it’s okay. I haven’t tested it but it’ll work.
Phil: You haven’t TESTED it?
Sam: No, not-
Phil:…Sam…?
Sam [as the clone body]: Not yet I haven’t! [Laughs] Look, Phil, look!
Phil: Oh my—!
Sam: I can control the clone! Like, it’s so strange, I don’t, I don’t even know how to describe it, it’s like I’m just IN this body now!
Phil: What the-?
Sam: It’s crazy, Phil! And I have a new design! This is just a prototype! With the real thing, you could control multiple bodies, and you could have them in very different places and be doing very different things, and they could communicate, like, instantly anywhere in the world, Phil! Like whenever we needed to, like, meet up, you could just instantly be there! Just imagine just how much this could change our lives! No one has to suffer ever again, like, ever again! No one has to die, nothing bad has to happen!
Phil: No, no, no, no, no, no, this, this—this messes… no…. this is messing with the natural order of things, Sam. This is… What this is is a potential opening to darkness.
Sam: But Phil, I mean, just think about it! If you hurt yourself and you break your leg, right? I can just—we can just make you a new body and you can just, like, move your consciousness into that body! It’s, it’s amazing! And then—
Phil: And then never die?
Sam: Yeah! Like you never have to die! As soon as your body starts to get old and break apart, it doesn’t matter, you can just be done with that body and get a new one—!
Phil: She won’t like this, she won’t like this, Sam, she REALLY will not like this.
Sam: What? Who? I don’t see how you don’t see how this is a wonderful thing! I just—
Phil: Sam. Promise me you will break this machine. This cannot… I know your intentions are good, but this thing? This—this messes with the natural order of everything. You can’t… You can’t eliminate death from the world, Sam, it, it needs to exist.
Sam: What do you mean? I’ve already done it—I’ve already… No one has to die anymore! I mean, I can’t! I’ve already done it! You can’t tell me to—
Phil: You realize what you’re saying—you realize what you’re saying, Sam? You’re not thinking this through.
Sam: You can’t ask me to give this up, Phil, this is—
Phil: People need to die, they need to move on. They need to grow—new generations need to be formed! It’s how the world adapts, it’s how everything grows it’s how we evolve. Sam, this is…
Sam: I can’t give this up, Phil. I-I, I’ve been… This is… I can’t even—I can’t even believe you! I can’t believe you don’t believe in this!
Phil:Sam, I’ve known you. I’ve known you a while now. But this… Trust me when I say, this will bring nothing but bad things. This will bring nothing but hurt.
Sam: But—but there’s so many people I could help with this, though.
Phil: Then help them in different ways, help them—you could, you could cure disease, you could literally—you could do anything but cheat Death! Cheating Death is something you cannot do. And should not do.
Sam:I can’t give this up, Phil I won’t.
Phil: Then I guess I can no longer… I can no longer be friends with you.
Sam: What?
Phil: I’m going to have to stop coming by if… Sam, right here right now—
Sam: Phil, I’m probably the only person that can hang around with you now! Like, I—I can be there to like, I can, I can, you can, what, what? What do you mean—you told me before! You were looking for something to, like, be meaningful, someone you could be friends with for a long time and it could be ME! I could be there! And like, like, we wouldn’t have anything go wrong—you’re… You’re gonna… You’re gonna, like, give up on all of that—?
Phil: But everyone dies eventually, Sam, I—I could die at any moment. I could die and that would be it. Just because I’ve lived a long time doesn’t mean I’m invincible. There needs to be—
Sam: But I don’t want that! I don’t want that world. Wouldn’t it be better if we could build like—like, a bunker and we could hide our real bodies and we could be in DIFFERENT bodies. And even if someone murdered us we could break out of the stasis, and we could go out and find those people and take revenge or—or just stay away if we wanted to! Ugh. I can’t…
Phil: Sam, promise me you’ll break this machine.
Sam: …I’m not giving up on this, Phil. I won’t. I won’t break it.
Phil: Then I guess this is farewell.
Sam: Fine, fine, but you’re gonna change your mind. And when you need a new body cause that one’s old and breaking down, don’t come to me and ask for one, because I won’t do it.
Phil: Fine by me.
Sam: Fine.
Phil: Goodbye, Sam.
Sam: Bye, Phil.
7/26/21 Philza Stream Monologue (NEW STREAM ROOM I AM IN THE NEW HOUSE LETS GOOOOOOOO)
I just speed ran this so if its a bit inaccurate that might be why
P: It’s raining, its raining on the server. I’m glad he hung out with ranboo you know? Because I’ve just seen him just kind of hanging out in our little area. And he seemed very bored, he’s done so much stuff.
He’s done so much on the server, it seemed like he needed something new, you know? And I’m glad that Will listened to me.. I had to threaten to kick him out of the fucking house, but I’m glad he listened to me eventually. Yeah.. maybe they could be best friends. Maybe they can you know… go on adventures together and just hang out a bunch. I feel like Will has a lot to teach him as well. Will’s been through a lot…. You know?
And its good to have interactions with other people that have also been through a lot. It gives you this perspective in a way now. Ranboo’s a big boy he can handle my son. The thing about Ranboo is that he knows that if he gets into a situation, that he either doesnt want to be in or can’t get out of or feels uncomfortable in, he has me to call. He has me to help. I’m there you know? He knows he can rely on me so…
I’m not worried. He hasn’t said anything, he hasn’t brought anything up, you know? I trust him. I think he’s fine. It’s crazy that a location where so many people hung out has just now turned into a ghost town. I’m hoping doing this kind of helps make this a nicer area to visit, so its not as you know, dry and crumbled and depressing. It can be something you look back on and be like “yep” so that’s “We had fun we had our differences, things happened, some would say for the better… some would say for the worse. I would say for the better for the people. Definitely not for the better of the environment.
ranboo: can i tell you something that might kind of want to make you kick me out?
phil and techno: sure.
ranboo: so i randomly have periods of time where i don’t remember things that i do... so you remember the old community house? i was kinda the one that blew that up.
phil: are you sure?
ranboo: yeah.
techno: bruh. like, why?
ranboo: i can’t remember why...
techno to phil: this guy is kinda weird
ranboo: yeah, that’s fair
techno: listen i’m gonna be honest, ranboo, i do not care about the community house at all. i don’t even know what that is.
ranboo: would you care if there was a disk here that was here for quite a long time? like one of the disks.
techno: bro, nobody cares about the disks. just literally tommy and dream are obsessing over the disks.
ranboo: well that’s good? ...so what are you guys up to?
Made a transcript of Philza's and Fundy's stream where they search for Wilbur. Here it is. The photos are just a little preview! Think I’ll start to make transcripts more often.
If you have any problem with the document, tell me so I can fix it! :)
Awesamdude 9/14 WHERE IS DREAM Lore Transcript, Most of one anyway
Ello! This is a partial transcript of Sam's stream on 9/14, WHERE IS DREAM, mostly his convo with Dream in the cell because I found it interesting and didn't want to do all of it, I don't have that time-
Anyway, this is my like second transcript, so enjoy! RBs appreciated!
DREAM: I can’t be telling people about the book, if i tell people about the book, then- then just, I dunno, everyone becomes too powerful, what if- what if the wrong person...knows it?
(Long silence)
DREAM: I mean, I’m the perfect person to know.
SAM: How are you the perfect person to know? You’re not the good guy, Dream. Don’t pretend like you’re the good guy. We both know that’s not true.
DREAM: I don’t think that I’m a bad guy.
SAM: How are you not the bad guy?
DREAM: Well, I think, there’s, yknow, good people do bad things.I think, yknow, it’s just, / a matter of perspective, good guys, bad guys….
SAM: /Bad people do bad things.
SAM: So what you did to Tommy. You were just a good guy, doing a bad thing? Making a mistake?
(Dream stays silent for a long while.)
DREAM: Look, just don’t tell Quackity.
SAM: Y'know what? I might tell Quackity. It depends on what kind of shenanigans I see…. This is-
DREAM: I’m telling you, this is the only thing- Look everywhere, this is the only thing-
SAM: I’ve already been looking everywhere, Dream. *Sigh*. I- Fine. Fine. I won’t tell Quackity you’re still here.
DREAM: ...Okay....
SAM: But-
DREAM: Cause… you know he’ll kill me. But you’ll still have to feed me, and you still have to, yknow-
SAM: I mean, I don’t have to…. You have a few potatoes in here, I see you’ve been...eating half meals, or what?
DREAM: Yeah, we’ve been saving them, but….
SAM: Saving them so you could escape, right? Out of this… tunnel you were going to dig, under-
DREAM: No! Because you gave us raw potatoes, and we don’t have food half the time, so we’re saving them.
SAM: ...Who’s idea was it to eat raw potatoes, Dream, let’s remember that.
SAM: Y’know what, stay here. Don’t come towards the bridge. (Sam turns to leave)
DREAM: No! Wait….
DREAM: Look, okay, at least… I dunno, what if you let me- what if I… Can you- I dunno, anything, I’ve been in here for so long, Sam.
(Sam silently looks at him)
DREAM: Can I go to the courtyard, y'know… can I-
SAM: Dream, what do you mean “can I go to the courtyard”?! You-You’re…! *sigh* I just had a situation where you were- you looked like you had disappeared!
(long silence)
DREAM: ...It’s secure, though….
SAM: ...Yeah. Why is the courtyard secure? You wanted to see the light, Dream, you wanted to see the outside.
DREAM, quietly: Yeah….
SAM: Guess what, Dream. Guess what. Guess what happened to the courtyard.
(long silence)
SAM: I sealed it up.
DREAM: Alright, I get it-
SAM: I sealed it up, yeah, I sealed it up, yknow why I sealed it up, Dream? ...Because it was a security flaw!
DREAM: Well, I didn’t know that-
SAM: Because it was a security flaw, Dream, that’s why I sealed it up. And the prisoner didn’t need to see the light, remember? Oh, and the steak, remember the steak, remember the potatoes, the steak? The cows? I was gonna cook the cows?
DREAM: ...Okay, well I didn’t know that I was gonna end up in here.
SAM: Right, right, so it was okay as long as someone else was the one eating the raw potatoes.
(Dream is silent)
SAM: Right? That’s when it was- when it was okay, that way, right? But now that it’s you, it- it’s not as fun, right? Yeah. ...And we can’t go to the courtyard, Dream, that’s a big security issue, big security flaw.
DREAM: ...May-Maybe you were right….
SAM: You think so? ...I can’t believe this, Dream….
DREAM: I didn’t realize how, bad it was…. I thought they’d be fine with potatoes, I thought they’d be fine with not seeing the courtyard…!
SAM: Hm.
DREAM: I get it, you wanted to be fancy, you wanted steak, and…. Light
SAM: Yeah. Yknow. Just because someone was locked in jail doesn’t mean they, yknow, deserve to...have nothing. ...You didn’t even- you didn’t even want to have books!
DREAM: Well, then put it back like that! Put it- Change it to you're- the way you wanted to do it. The way you wanted to do the prison, make all the changes-/ give me more stuff in here- (unintelligible)
SAM: /What is the trick here?! What’s the trick here, what’s the trick, is, like- What have you two planned?! You’re- there’s something, something’s wrong here.
DREAM: How is that a plan?! Me saying, / steak, and... seeing the light-
SAM: /Something’s here, something’s wrong here, something’s wrong here…. What are you planning?
DREAM: I didn’t know that- I wouldn’t- (inteligible)
SAM: You’ve never asked to go to the courtyard before, and now suddenly you want to go to the courtyard? After Technoblade has magically disappeared from the cell with you?!
DREAM: I thought I’d be getting out of here and seeing the light! I haven’t seen the light… in ages.
SAM: I sealed it, Dream. There is no light, even in the courtyard.
DREAM: Yeah… Well, that’s ‘cause I said to, you can undo it.
SAM: I guess I could…
(silence)
SAM: It’s-
DREAM: … you could.
SAM: ...I...I can’t believe this, Dream... I…! Every-Everything that you hate about the prison was your idea. You should- You should exp- You should, y’know what?! Y’know what, I’m-I’m glad. I’m glad that you haven’t seen the light in a while. This was literally- this was literally the experience you wanted for the prisoners!
SAM: (Stammering) You made this bed, literally. You- Like, I may have built it, I may have engineered it, but... it was... you were the one that wanted…!
SAM: (Stammering) Do you know what you put Tommy through?! ...This is… I mean, I don’t even think this is as bad! I th- You should be thankful!
SAM: You wanted this to be for Tommy, Dream. You and me both know it. You- We both know, you told me to build this so you could put Tommy in here, didn’t you?
(Dream remains silent)
SAM: That’s why you wanted people to be able to visit. That way you could… flaunt Tommy, who you’ve got stuck in a cell, in front of everyone! That’s why you wanted people to be able to visit, that’s why you didn’t want the courtyard, because you didn’t want that for Tommy.
SAM, angrily: And you didn’t want him to have a good place to live, you didn’t want him to have good food, because, you wanted to- you wanted to give him raw potatoes! You didn’t want to give him steak. You just wanted him to- have a horrible life in here! So, keep it for yourself, Dream.
(Dream remains silent)
SAM: you… You deserve this. You’re the bad guy here! And you’re- you’re lucky I don’t tell Quackity you’re here!
(Dream remains silent)
SAM: Maybe next time it won’t be Quackity who comes into the cell, maybe it’ll be me! Don’t ask me to go to the courtyard.
DREAM: ...Alright.
SAM. Go over there. (Dream moves to the back of the cell). I’ll be back to fill in this hole. And… no- no more shenanigans. Or I will tell Quackity that you’re here. And we both know what will happen. (Sam walks out of the cell) ...You’re very certain of it, so….
(He drinks fire res and pearls out)
SAM: I’ll be back soon, Dream. Just… why don’t you write me a little book, Dream? Write me a book about… y’know, how much you’re going to enjoy your experience here in the prison. Sound good?
(Dream is silent)
SAM: And if you know something, about Techno, Dream? I expect that while you’re here enjoying your stay, you’ll think about, uh, y’know, letting me know whatever you know. Right?
(Dream is silent)
SAM: Good.
(He watches Dream as the lava curtain falls slowly down)
