Brazilian artist Claudio Rafael, aka Claudio Ethos, tells Find Art Magazine he believes "art is about process, discovery, and letting go of yourself...." He refuses to define his surreal images and says his work is "born from prolific dreams that haunt him two weeks at a time." In translating those dreams Claudio told @UrbanNation_Berlin his goal is to “depict emotional and spiritual states because there are no accurate definitions for so many of these sensations" and @PrettyPortal describes the result as a "twisted manipulation of images and landscapes." Now living part-time in Los Angeles, this untitled 8-year-old work on Main St at 5th St was one of the early pieces credited with helping launch the resurgence of public art in Downtown LA.  @claudioethos/

My ‘antique chihuahua’ as part of the Getty Research Institute’s ‘Grandfather: A Pioneer Like Us’ exhibit. The exhibit is a recreation of curator Harald Szeemann’s exhibit from the 1970s recreating his grandfather’s apartment/ beauty salon. It’s currently at The Institute of Contemporary Art and will be traveling around the world. Bon Voyage, little dog.

Collaboration is challenging and exhilarating. Bringing an experimental work to completion can be even more so. @shrineon and I started this piece 10 years ago during the closing event of the Temple of Visions gallery in Los Angeles. It was bitter sweet to be letting go of the gallery, and I can’t say we intentionally decided to paint a temple to immortalize that time, but after years of this unfinished painting hanging on the wall of my studio it always reminded me of the time when @templedweller_ai & @mysticmusestudios opened the Temple with a collective of international artists creating a magical space in downtown LA. 

Did you ever get a chance to visit the Temple of Visions? I met so many wonderful friends there and it was an inspiring time of building community. 1000’s of art lovers came through during the height of the Downtown Artwalk and it certainly left its mark in our hearts and memories.
